    8/5 - Signal Peak

Made a quick run up Signal Peak on Saturday. Met up with "Having Fun" in his 4th Gen at the trail head. We aired down and waited to see if anyone else would show up and departed at 8:30 am up the trail. Due to this winter, the trail seemed a little more loose heading up to the hill climb. We...

It is not the same a Fordyce. It is much easier and shorter. It does start at the same place as Fordyce. http://4x4trailmaps.com/4x4Trails.php?Trail_ID=82

It would depend on your skills and a spotter. In a group, getting a spotter would not be an issue. Also, do you have a locker or ATRAC or other traction device?

    8/5 - Signal Peak

I am planning on making a run up Signal Peak on 8/5. This would be going in from the Eagle Lakes side and coming out Cisco Grove. Plan would be to meet at trail head and depart up trail by 8:30 am. On the way back down, stop in Nevada City at Jernigan's Tap House & Grill for lunch, then...

    Family West Coast Trip

It's amazing how fast the snow has melted, but there is still snow in the high country. About a month ago, the pictures were of snow banks over 15' high. Went over Ebbett's Pass (8,730) to Grover Hot Springs today. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

    Family West Coast Trip

It looks as if Slick Rock may be open. I saw a few crawler rigs on trailers, and that is the only trail they could be at by Lake Alpine. There is still some snow on the ground at the Lake Alpine campground as well as Silvertip campground, but they are all open. Heading to Utica today to go...

Finalize your plans, Ebbett's Pass (Hwy. 4) is officially open as of today (6/30). Corral Hollow may be still snowed in. Other good news, Spicer Rd. opened this week allowing some awesome camp spots to open up at Union & Utica Lakes.

    Signal Peak Information (Nor Cal)

Accessing Signal Peak from the Cisco Grove exit it very easy. It's mostly a fire road, with some slightly challenging spots, but completely passable in a stock vehicle without any spotting. Coming in from the other side it quite difficult. There are some large rock sections, off camber, steep...

Great News - Spicer Road to Open

Great news for those looking for a place to camp this holiday weekend. Spicer Road will open tomorrow off of Hwy. 4. They have made temporary repairs to the road to allow access. I believe Slick Rock may still be closed, and not sure about access to the other lakes and if the camp grounds...
