Denver: Six Flags, Water park, and the Denver Zoo are my top three places to go.
Tubing down the Arkansas river through Canyon City is fun… but usually the water is low this time of year… I would put in at Centennial Park on the west side of town (just off of HWY 50) and float down to HWY 115...
@walkabout_ca if you get a whining sound in your tranciever’s audio, you might look into either rerouting your coax away from the auxiliary battery power cables, or add ferrite beads to the coax, or both. If no hum or high pitched noise is present (both RX and TX) disregard this comment.
As @Kent R said, put it up on a rally point. There was talk Sunday on the Inland Northwest Conference call about getting a couple mid season camps and trail runs in. @Sandpoint Steve is your closest member representative, he has a lot of good information on helping you put together some kind of...
I wouldn’t downgrade to a 1500 from a 2500… it’s very easy to overbuild an overland rig and max out your hauling capacity. We generally recommend using what you have.
always go NMO if you can, it makes swapping antennas easier or easier to store when not in use. HRO is a great resource for online radio shopping, don’t forget DX Engineering and Gigaparts… shop all three for their sales…

I’m a huge fan of the Rugged brand accessory mounts. The A pillar would be a more ideal mounting location over the bumper, although adding a mount to the under side of your RTT would probably get you the best performance (if possible). I’m not much of a help on antenna selection because I don’t...
I have spent most of this summer experimenting with using just an HT for 2m/70cm communication… places I could hit the repeaters easily with 25 watts I can hear, but they can’t hear me… Last night I tried using my 8 watt HT to hit a repeater 15 miles away with an external J-Pole antenna...
One thing that would help… I noticed a lot of people were trying to buy tickets the last two weeks before the Expo, but online sales had stopped… the website said “Sold Out”… they may need to market it better so that people know tickets are still available at the gate, just not at the presale...
