It looks like Blue Ridge Pkwy campgrounds are closed due to COVID 19.
Any Virginians have advice on where I can camp or overland on or near the BRP? My timeframe is mid-June.
Thanks.
Not this past weekend or the one coming. On June 6th or 7th, I am heading out again and Bald Eagle is on the agenda. I may go farther west to PA Wilds afterwards.
Last night I camped in Bald Eagle State Park at the Poe Paddy campground. My campsite was near the stream. My trek began on Saturday at Ricketts Glenn. Feels good to get out after being cooped up.
Yesterday, I drove through the Loyalsock State Forest region after two days of camping at Ricketts Glenn. Loyalsock has many little towns leftover from the old lumber harvesting days - mostly paved roads although some gravel too. The High Knob Overlook on Rt 87 is picturesque.

My Jackery 500 arrived two days ago. It came charged at 29%. Took about 6 hours to charge to 100%. I've been testing my gear and logging the start and end time to measure the Jackery's output longevity so I'll have a baseline of knowledge when I am out in the field. I ran a Wagan 24 Liter...

At about 2:30pm, when we got back from the trail run, the parking lot was pretty full. The BBQ guy had a non-stop line of customers for about an hour. Fun time. Tasty food. Nice folks. Thanks to Paul for organizing this.
