    What do we really need?

there was a time when everything I really "needed" fit in a backpack. having a truck = more creature comforts like a tent I can stand up in, a camp kitchen that can do more then just boil water and eat out of the same pot I cooked in, something to sleep on more then a thin 3/4 Therma-rest, fresh...

    Plano box kitchen and inventory

I wonder how durable the wood ones are. I saw one online that was made out of a converted tool chest. I think I’m going to try that route.

US West North Bay/Wine-beer country meetup

Seems like there are a number of folks that live just north of San Francisco and seeing if there would be any interest in having a meet-up in/around Santa Rosa. I know @Charles_Alarie is interested. Anyone else interested in starting something up here? Seems like the East Bay, South Bay and...

    3 Day Challenge

Just did this last week. Had rough idea of where I was going to camp but hadn’t been to any of them before. And actually one of the areas turned out not so great, so then drove around and found another great spot. Pics of the 2 camping spots. Also “discovered” a nice road that wasn’t in Gaia in...

    Carrying extra fuel

Any issues with leakage? I used mine for the first time this week, and by the time I got to my camp you could see some spillage. I also found it a bit difficult to pour into my tank. Kinda bummed.

    Carrying extra fuel

I went with one of these. Found a 5gal can online for $30. I kinda like the idea of metal gas can over a plastic one. Plus it's pretty small given how much it holds.

OB Approved Overland Safety: Fire Extinguishers

One of the most informative threads I think I've ever read. I think my take-away is some kind of quick-response BC extinguisher in the cab incase of engine or electrical dash fire (preferably non-corrosive), and something bigger ABC type thing incase things get more out of control, or you have a...

    Carrying extra fuel

Those are nice too. I'm wondering if anyone uses any of those gas containers you see at the auto-parts stores. They seem to be fairly inexpensive. Just wondering if they hold up to jarring around. I've only used one once when I ran out of gas back in high school because my gauge was broken.

    Carrying extra fuel

Besides Rotopax or Jerry-cans, how are others carrying extra fuel?
