Welcome to the reason we call it Subaru weather @NorCalCrisp haha.
Aaahhhh... the pressed on perch issue. You’ll be pleased to learn that the rear is still pressed on in the new cars. Have you considered the collars to help combat the issue?
It’s almost comical how clueless he is and it’s only funny because he’s lucky. He had no idea what he was doing and is a great example of how not being prepared can get you in trouble.
I will gladly answer all of your questions @morty muerte but I’m going to do it in a DM as not to clutter up the thread. I’m adulting today so give me a little bit.
Two winters marinating in Pennsyltucky salt and some days mine looks a little rough and others it looks fine. All depends on how well it gets cleaned.
I agree and feel the same way about every pinstripe down the side of the wagon.
Couple things first @morty muerte. The OE wheels are 7” wide and have an awful offset of 55 not 35. The wheels most people go with are 8” wide and as you said an offset of 45. So when you compare the two the aftermarket wheel ‘pokes’ out essentially an inch more. When you lift an independent...
Correct. Are you referring to the dampers topping out? The rear dampers are definitely lacking in the droop department but it isn't a problem. I'll probably be interested in the damper spacers from Rallitek when they give them the green light though.
Welcome! and nice collection. Feel free to check out and introduce yourself to a bunch of other Subaru members here...

Now I know the limitations of my Outback but its worth noting that the only thing holding it back from doing more is not having a low range. I'm saying doing more than what I already do which I'm sure would surprise most of you. The limiting factor is not ground clearance or traction (especially...
I chose to go with this one...
Its the same volume but shorter and I prefer that since mine is mounted on the roof. I hate the disposable bottles for a few reasons but one of them is that you can only run one item at a time. I use mine for heat, light, and cooking but it would last quite a...
Welcome! I'm always glad to see another Subaru looking to get dirty. Outside of OB we have Mtn Roo Mid-Atlantic and Northeast chapters in our region. These are great mainly Subaru groups that like to take their cars off road. Some are very stock and others are far from it but when we plan an...
Glad to help Marty! I imagine it’s back on the first page but I dipped my OE wheels when I bought the wagon but when I lifted it I switched wheels/tires almost immediately. I have Enkei RPF1’s now to shed a bunch or weight while still being very strong.
Good luck with your Subaru! Feel free to...
Copy that. They go right where the OE fogs would be so its a nice clean installation. Have you upgraded any of your lighting or plan to before the trip?
I make it almost routine to recommend seeking out a local MtnRoo chapter to all new Subaru members. The planned events that happen are a...
I used to go on the Outback forums all the but found that most of the knowledge base didn’t extend beyond floor mats and questions about what oil people use. They’re a great sounding board for common issues but when it comes to ‘overlanding’ type things I found it’s easier to get creative. Feel...
Hello and welcome! I'm glad to see that you're enjoying your Outback the way I feel they should be. As you already know I have a 2015 but our wagons are still very similar when it comes to modifications.
Lighting.. I'm extremely anti swapping in LED forward lighting. The current 'bulbs' just...
We have quite a few Subaru members on here that can attest to just how well they go off road. Almost anything you do to them above that will only add to their ability but they are most definitely a compromise between a car and something traditionally taken off road. Water fording is made more...
Don't threaten me with a good time! I went back a couple post so were you thinking 03/03?
Congratulations @outwardbound! The arrival of our 2nd is looming haha.
