What you immediately get from removing it is a little more droop since the suspension hangs from the end links. That and freedom to ‘flex’ are the benefits you see off road.
On road I barely noticed it being gone even with stock springs. The Outback is a ridiculously heavy understeer car so...
No worries!
I often joke with people who are considering lifting about the ~18 mph shudder because of the fact that nobody talks about it. I explain the details and I also mention how its been a non issue for me.
Hello @Liana Lehua! Here are the questions I believe you are referring to and my response via DM. I’m glad to help so feel free to ask any questions!
Ok let’s be right into it.
1) Don’t worry about the 7” wide wheels with 245/65’s. There’s an acceptable range for all tire sizes and you won’t...
Yeah I ordered armor at the same time as the original lift. If you’re planning on going with Primitive for armor I’d recommend saving up for all of it and buy it together. Mine as well take advantage of the discount.
We have Fireboxes mounted in our Interceptors and that thing is impressive but like you said it all comes down to individual needs/wants. The market for flashlights certainly supports choice through an insane amount of options.
Flashlight conversations are up there with ‘which oil do you use’, ‘Coke or Pepsi’, etc.. I’ve had a SureFire as an EDC for quite some time but anymore I buy Streamlight because it’s gotten increasingly difficult to tell the difference. All of my weapon lights are Streamlight anymore and to...
Sorry to hear about your Outback @WhatTheZo but glad that you’re apparently ok.
I believe King springs have a 10% higher spring rate than Rallitek and even loaded up I never would have needed/wanted that extra 10%.
I think, perhaps, you misinterpreted this thread. My Alien Gear holster is very comfortable and I’m still wearing it when I’m driving but choose to place the firearm in the holster in the car for a couple reasons. Quicker access and for as comfortable as my IWB holster is it’s still a handgun...
Subaru’s definitely have their limitations out of the box @OrTrek but to me it’s all part of the fun. I’ve always enjoyed doing things a little different haha. Admittedly there are some things I just can’t alter or correct. Low range would be great but I’ve gotten by without it. Locking diffs...
There are definitely a lot of gates but there’s still a lot of places to go exploring out there. It’s worth noting that every fall Pennsyltucky opens a lot of gates for hunters/lovers of leaves.
Have a great trip! GWNF is definitely nice and it only gets better in West Virginia. I live in...
Well @OrTrek.. I had to go look at the front bumper because I’ve only seen the rear one. It looks like it’s clean and as well thought out as the rear one. It’s impossible to speculate but considering there hasn’t been a design change it appears to be allowing enough flow for at least their daily...
No problem! Gaia is a very commonly used map application. It’s great for exploring since it has roads/trails that typically don’t show up on a regular GPS. It’s also great since I can share routes with you.
I’m a big fan of Alien Gear holsters and I have one of their mounts under my steering column. The mount itself is very low profile and works with any of their shells. I don’t have any pictures in my car but this should give you an idea.
Thank you and congrats on your Outback! By all means ask if there’s anything I can help you with along the way. I originally dipped the bumper guard and have been using it for an extra layer of protection to beat on haha.
Thank you @max.grun !
As far as the tires go I haven’t taken a tread depth measurement but after 20k they seem to be wearing well. It’s my guesstimate that they’ll go 40-50k or perhaps more depending on seasonal timing. It’s worth noting that I do 5 tire rotations and I’d recommend the same for...
