Just the InReach and the Ram mount are new, I've been running the iPad mount for a while now. It does pretty good but like I said before it could be more stable. It doesn't bounce around or anything like that but I am going to come up with something that slips around the base below the cup...
I like having options depending on duration, group size, etc.. I use a Jetboil or even my Weber Q1200 if the situation calls for it but my primary option is the Stansport stove. Otherwise known as the less expensive Camp Chef Everest but with hotter burners.
I've wanted an InReach SE for a while and finally picked one up for this reason. I didn't want to miss out and the SE+ doesn't do anything extra that I'm after. On top of that look at the cost difference... jeez.
I'm using it as a GPS receiver (replacing a Dual 150) for my iPad and comms. I've...
What started with a cheap icross iPad mount (not pictured), my old iPad 2, and a Dual 150 external gps..
Has grown into this. I just added a Delorme inreach which is, what I believe, the final piece.
The Joy Factory mount could be more stable but is otherwise fantastic. I'm working on...

Sounds like you guys will be able to work something out. I look forward to hearing how it goes because I'm definitely interested in checking out the TAT.
I should be leaving my home Wednesday evening. The plan is to drive down to Harrisonburg, spend the night, and then wake up early to hit some...
I don't know the ratings on the battery you purchased. I'm sure it would it would be good to you, especially on a daily but I am a fan of Odyssey. I installed a rebranded Odyssey when my car was only a year old.
As far as dual battery goes if I decide thats necessary for my Outback it will be...
I just bought my ticket. I'm coming from northeast Pa., I'd love to catch up and drive down with people.
I don't know if you saw this thread @Dave Hughes but it might be more helpful.
X mode is a lot more than hill descent control. It is for going uphill or downhill, moving forward AND it also works in reverse. It works at any speed <18 mph and will drastically improve low traction situations. On trails I typically turn it on and leave it on until I know its no longer needed...
Depending on the grade the hill descent control portion of X mode can be a bit much. In other words when you're driving around in X mode and you start down even the slightest hill it wants to take over and its really not necessary. I typically turn it off for any sections like that but on the...
I can only speak for the 5th gen Outback but it is very lightly sprung. Even without any additional weight up front the car benefitted greatly off road with higher spring rate springs as well. All the weight on the nose going downhill used to rob a lot of travel/clearance with the OE springs...
Thank you! I looking forward to many more to come.
Thanks! There's a Volvo parked next to it in the garage but I think the closest to off road that'll ever get is if my wife parks in the grass at a fair haha.
I appreciate it! It's a very capable wagon.
Thanks! Sounds good to me!
Haha...
Most of the lifting options are essentially rubber stamps of each other. LP, SUMO, Subtle, and ADF all use blocks that sit on top of your current suspension. The alternative may use springs or a combination of blocks and springs. That's how Rallitek and Primitive (King Springs) work. The only...
Well I know the Yakima Mega Warrior goes all the way across the roof of the 5th gen but that still doesn't put the support bars above the rails. Hopefully someone can chime in with an idea for you.
Welcome! What part of Pennsyltucky are you in?
I know I mounted mine as high as I could so that I could stand under it next to the wagon. Wasn't high enough so I lifted the car more... haha.
Don't forget that a solution to the hatch is the lift height memory feature. You can set it so it only opens as high as you want.
Looking good man...
Forgot to say it but welcome! I'm sure quite a few of us are familiar with your awesome Brat!
Not going to lie I don't believe I've ever seen this version before. It's great that there's a shorter option but that also means it doesn't reach out as far. I think I prefer the slightly over 8'...
Yeah I didn't think so. Bummer because it was cheaper than the same Oddesy battery.
I would agree. Sorry I don't have a good driver side shot but you can see where it extends to front/back here. It is as close as it can get to touching my hatch when it opens.
