    Finally making the jump...

I don't know much about the 80 series but would love to have one someday. As for lockers, I don't have them because I've never really needed them for the overlanding that I do. I find a winch to be more important to me. That could change someday however. But I don't rock crawl and try to avoid...

Steel Cable vs Synthetic Rope Winch

I chose synthetic for safety reasons. Only used it a couple times so far dragging logs. Haven't had to recover myself yet. There is a thread on here somewhere with good info about which synthetic line will hold up the longest and not be affected by UV light, salt water, etc.

    New Guy (FNG)

Thanks for the info. I'd love a Trailhawk but don't think I can afford it. But we're going to look at them and see what's within our budget.

We're about to trade in our Grand Cherokee for a new Cherokee. Is that the Trailhawk?

    solar power

I don't yet. But when I get and build my adventure trailer, I'm going to put a battery bank in it and run solar to charge the batteries. I'm thinking four deep cycle batteries connected in parallel to increase amp hour. I've seen on other forums people were happy with the solar panels bought at...

    CB Radio (merged thread)

I have this same unit for the trails. I have a 3' Firestik mounted on the rear of my Jeep. Does decently but I need to get it tuned with an SWR meter. The nice thing about this Midland, when on the trails, if I'm out of the Jeep spotting someone, I can put the rubber antenna on and talk to the...

    Any Fellow Michigander?

Used to live in Traverse City. Usually make a trip up to Michigan every year. Heading up again in July. Usually we spend a few nights in the U.P. but I think we're going to limit this trip to the Traverse City area.

    Jeep Badge of Honor?

Lol. Good idea. Build a man cave around the badge of honor plaque. I'm thinking of putting an image of my current on the plaque. I also have a GC so I might have to have two plaques. Or three if I add another Jeep to the lineup.

    Jeep Badge of Honor?

I doubt I'll put any on a Jeep. I'm thinking of putting them on a plaque in my man cave. But yah, it's a pretty cool program.
