    Iowa

[ I'm just up the road from you in Davenport. I travel down that way once in awhile. There are a few others on here from Eastern Iowa as well. We all faded away during the summer months, but will probably see a resurgence now that the snow is falling again.

I see you're down the road from me in Burlington. Welcome to the forum.

    Roof rack for JKU

I run a Warrior Products Renegade roof rack. Really like it for tossing camping gear and stuff up there. It's completely bolt on and doesn't take very long to remove. Mine is the fastback version. I put the air dam on it because it's noisy as hell.

    Iowa

Welcome to the forum. I haven't been on as much in awhile but it's good to see the Iowa ranks growing. I'm on the Eastern side of the state in Davenport.

    Michigan trails

Good info. I'm on the UP Overland forum but I don't get on there much. I need to try to get in on one of their outings someday soon. Wish I could live in the UP. Beautiful area, and peaceful.

Small is light, and light is fast

Was looking at that one, as well as the Micro Start XP-10. I've read good reviews about both. I use one daily at work and am tired of lugging around a large jump pack. However, I've heard the anti-gravity batteries don't perform well in cold weather. Being in California, you don't have to worry...

    Eastern Iowa Weekend

Sounds like your set up pretty well. I used to live in Traverse City and we go there every year. The wife and I are actually talking about moving there next year. Also looking at Elkhart, Indiana. Northern Michigan is awesome and lots of places to explore. If I ever get around to putting lockers...

    Eastern Iowa Weekend

Sounds like your Rubi is well equipped. I have a winch but no lockers. We usually go to the UP each summer and stay in a cabin along the Manistique River, see the sights, canoeing, etc. Usually head up to Lake Superior and see the light houses. Drummond Island is on my short list. Tried to set...

    Eastern Iowa Weekend

There are a few in Illinois and a lot in Indiana. I wanted to take my wife for a drive up lake Michigan next weekend hoping for some Fall colors, but now she works weekends. Trying to plan a run up to Michigan next year. Earlier this year we were going to run some trails in Indiana but it kinda...

    Any Preppers/Threepers?

I'm not a bunker prepper either, but I do like to be prepared. After 15 years in the Army, preparedness has been a big part of my life. But I don't prep for the zombie apocalypse, rather, natural disasters and situations that are most likely to occur. The usual food, water, heat, and other...

    Michigan trails

I live next door in Iowa. Lived in Phoenix. Hate the heat. I've pretty much got my wife convinced we need to move North. I've taken her to Michigan a few times and she loves it. Not sure how she'll handle the winters though.

    Michigan trails

I'll have to check out those cities as well. I'm interested in General RV since they have shops in Florida as well. Hoping someday to do the North/South, Summer/Winter thing. Thanks for the info.

    Michigan trails

Looking at Wayland, MI. If not Michigan, possibly Elkhart, IN, which is very close to the southern border of Michigan. I started working in the RV industry last year because I wanted a skill I could take on the road when my wife and I finally buy an RV and live in it. General RV in Wayland, and...

    Michigan trails

Let me know what you find and I'll let you know if I find anything. I'm trying to plan a trip for next year. I heard about Iron Mountain and areas like that. Crisp Point Light House is a cool location up on Lake Superior. It takes about an hour on wash board roads and trails to get there, but a...

    Michigan trails

Drummond Island in the U.P. You'll also find a lot of people in the U.P. into off roading. I know of a group out of Munising. I usually head up to Michigan once a year with my wife. Usually go to Traverse City, then Mackinaw, then to the U.P. for a few days. Hoping to get to Drummond Island next...

    What's your Multi-Tool?

I carried a Gerber in the Army, but recently purchased a Leatherman Surge for work and on the trail. The tools are very useful for me and I really like the bit extender and bit kit. I like that the wire cutters are replaceable and so are some of the blades, depending on the situation.

    Missouri?

I'm not in K.C., but I have relatives in Kearney, Holt and other communities so I head down there once in awhile. Lots to explore in Missouri. Just never enough time. lol
