We too have the Dometic 75Qt and it's been working flawlessly for our on and off again tripping. Sorry to hear you're having issues.
On ours too the temp does fluctuate a bit, but only by maybe five degrees.
Day Three, Devil's Tower and the Bighorn Mountains!
Got up with the sun, packed up, made coffee, on the road within 30 minutes. (We don't like wasting time.)
First stop; Devil's Tower. After a short hike around the base we hit the road again towards the west. After a quick stop to look around...
Something to keep in mind: You'll find a great number of Jeep owners eventually switching to Toyota. Hardly ever will a Toyota owner switch to Jeep.
We owned Jeeps for years before converting over. We also went years assuming it was normal to continuously change out drivetrain parts on our...
Ground tent with thick air mattress.
Pros: None of the inconveniences of a RTT. Mattress covers over the uneven ground. Tent is all mesh without the fly over it creating a great breeze and star gazing.
Cons: None :mask:
You've probably already thought of this, it's one of the most crucial elements: A good solid base for everything to bolt onto, particularly strong towards the front of the vehicle. When the drawers or fridge/cooler are pulled out there's an amplified amount of weight pulling up at the front...
You won't regret the hard work you'll put into designing and building what will eventually fulfill your needs for storage and work space!
Our kitchen has made our time camping so much better, easier, and faster. We produced a complete, detailed video on how we built out our system. If you're...
Day Two; Continuing West.
About an hour's drive west got us to Badlands National Park. We've been there so much over the years that we don't spend much time sightseeing. There is a really nice drive through the heart of the park though. They have a very healthy herd of Bison.

The following are pictures, along with brief descriptions and details, of our latest trip. We hope you enjoy them. We'll be adding to it during the next few days when we have time. Here's the first day:
We started from our home base in north-central Illinois heading west, through Wisconsin...
We run Ridge Grapplers on our 4Runner with great success. They are a heavy tire because of the terrain they're designed to handle. They are also considered a "hybrid" tire. Meaning they're a cross between an all terrain and mud tire. If you're just going to be pounding pavement and an...
Great choice on getting a 4Runner! We've had ours for a couple years now and truly enjoy the interior size, shorter wheelbase, and availability of quality aftermarket parts.
I haven't paid much attention to the 2020 models. Seems like the functionality isn't changing much at all. Looks like...
I guess we could be considered one of those YouTubers other posters in this thread are referring to.
We produce parts installation and modification videos for Toyota FJ Cruisers and 4Runners. We've been doing it for almost four years now and continue to be incredibly pleased and humbled by all...

We finally broke down and became "real" overlanders by buying a Trasharoo. UPS just dropped it off, opened the box, THIS THING IS FREAKIN' HUGE! We definitely don't need anything near this big! It's going back. Any suggestions on a bag about half this size? We went with the Trasharoo...
Over the past 30+ years we've had a wide variety of SUVs and trucks, every make and model. In '07 we bought our first "foreign" vehicle, a brand new Toyota FJ Cruiser. We were, and still are, impressed on how well engineered and put together Toyotas are! Ten years later we were in the market for...
I need to switch over from disposable propane bottles to a semi-permanently mounted 5# -8" diameter or a 10# -8.9" diameter tank. Any advice on mounts? Our situation calls for it to be bolted to the top rail of our dual swing-out bumper, next to the tire. So the bolts will have to go down...
