    camp site websites

I'm getting more into overlanding, and I recently moved to the St Louis area, so I'm looking for resources to help me find places to go. I stumbled across www.freecampsites.net and www.ozarktrail.com (obviously local area). Any have any other cool sites that list places to go?

Hi lift jack for my Jeep

Unless you're seriously lifted, or spend a lot of time on the rocks the 48" would be fine. My pickup is up 12" and I haven't needed the top 12" on my 60" jack yet.

    Matchless Campfire

Nick, just checked out your review video. I liked that you went with the "uninformed" approach, however it did ad some unneeded length to your video. I appreciated the honest recommendations for Matchless to improve their product, as they also gave consumers a heads up.

    Plastic dip.

Do you think it sticks better than regular paint? I've painted plenty of parts, but without a good bit of prepping the pealing starts after a month.

    Leitner Designs Active Cargo System

Scott: I see the storage pods on the rack are locking, do they use a standard RV cam lock? How thick is the plastic? IE do you feel secure leaving gear in there 24/7?

    Plastic dip.

Was every one doing this themselves? I've been reading up on this stuff, but haven't tried it yet. How much prepping are you all doing prior?

    Google Road for trails.

I doubt folks that trash trails are going to be looking them up in much detail beforehand. If they're not smart enough to respect the trail, why would they be smart enough to research?

    Vehicle Tools (Merged thread)

I have an ACDelco 120-ish piece "mechanics" set that I've kept in my daily driver since '03. I've used it more on other peoples stuff than I have on mine. But that's taught me to always have it, as so many people don't own any tools, even at home. I also keep a 18" breaker bar for the stuck...

I'll fully admit I love 4x4s, I have two. The freedom of adventure they offer is amazing. "I wonder where that leads to..."

    What is your rigs name

Lukipela (Luki). It's Hawaiian for Lucifer. Everyone kept telling me this truck would get me in trouble and I like the exotic sound of it.

Tire type, rim sizes and such...

I've got alloys on my truck, and steelies on my jeep. The steelies are common, inexpensive and easy to clean up (or touch up with a rattle can) People are always replacing their steel wheels with something nicer, so you can always find a complete set or a single replacement if you need it. If...

Any one else take an instrument with them? I've got a couple acoustic guitars and have had fun bringing one along. Not small, but light. Nothing much more relaxing than sitting in front of a fire plucking strings.

    Heating for sleeping

For those with the Mr. Heater Little Buddy Heater, could it be fitted to a larger bottle? Or is the 1 lb the only option? On the larger heater, could some one tell me the approximate size/weight?
