The Search for the BEST Overland Camp Chair

I can throw in a vote for the SnowPeak Low Beach Chair. One of my most treasured pieces of touring equipment * sits low and comfortable * high back for sitting back and stargazing * good balance between upright for meals and comfort * soft thick canvas * does not cut into back of your legs *...

    SnoMaster vs National Luna comparison

True! I am not sure I could fit a taller fridge in on top of my current drawers so for extended distance touring I would almost consider trading my 50L Twin and getting two 50L singles and running one as a freezer and one as a fridge.... but there goes the entire cargo area in the...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

    Snomaster Traveler 11L Fridge Freezer

Anyone have any experience with this console fridge/freezer? Promises -12degrees celcius and such a tiny footprint for an extra freezer when touring, I am tempted. https://www.snomasterusa.com/product/traveler-series-bd-c12-12l-dc-portable-fridge-freezer/

    ConsoleVault Safes for your rig

Interesting, I've just installed the Front Runner safe, key only. Seems nice and strong but mostly its a stealthy storage compartment lifting up my centre console

    STORAGE NETS

I'm thinking one would be real handy for the lightweight sort of gear. Even fold our Thermarest airmats in half and store for extra quick bedtimes when touring....

That Hummer cockpit is 150% Reckon the 70s and the Defenders sourced their airvents out of the same parts bin :kissing:

Cast Iron or No? (weight right now is not an issue for me)

+1 for carbon steel. I have a Snowpeak frypan and it tastes very similar without the weight

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Installed the Front Runner under-centre-console lockable safe. Anyone with a 70 series LandCruiser would share my joy as the console is now an appropriate height as an armrest. Now to plan what will be installed in the safe, thinking some 12v points to start.

What is your must cook meal or must have food for camping.

I usually like to try something new if going away for just a weekend. Last time included fire cooked corn cobs (new) and steaks with a veggie hash from the frypan (faithful favourite) Long tours always include a bag or two of precooked stew or casserole amongst the fresh produce as an option...

Cast Iron or No? (weight right now is not an issue for me)

love using cast iron for a few reasons 1. taste 2. easy / non existant cleanup 3. holds its heat, efficicent weight is the only disadvantage really, but I compromise and carry a small cast iron campoven and grill

    Portable Fire Pits?

Super happy with my large SnowPeak firepit. Highly recommend it. Folds away flat, burns well.

    Lighting up Camp

Headlamps FTW Else I have a dimmable LED strip in my awning, plus a small LEDLenser lantern for the table or tent Not a huge fan of lighting up a campsite like a sports oval

    Uk Bedroll

That is an impressive looking bedroll you've made. I have recently begun making a few overlanding things myself, mostly canvas storage type solutions on my old Singer. Will you sew a canvas bag for it?

    Camp Stove

I opted for a dual fuel Coleman for a couple of reasons.. 1. Heat - burns very hot compared to butane or LPG 2. Waste - does not need throwaway cans or canisters 3. Fuel source - Wasn't keen on carrying a LPG bottle 4. Backup fuel source - can be used with unleaded petrol if needed 5. Coleman...

    Coffee Set Ups

Tested out the Handpresso Auto today, cleanup included wiping steam off the lid and throwing away a paper filter containing the grounds. Oh and wiping out the coffee cups after. Wow! Coffee was insanely good. 16bar of pressure gives a mean expresso. Takes probably a minute per cup?

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

Ordered a half cargo barrier and a Front Runner under-console lockable safe a few days ago, wasn't next on the list but an online sale pushed it up. The next item on the long list is likely a Goal Zero Boulder 90 panel...
