2007 GMC Sierra NNBS Build (slowly but surely)

How does a 6" drop work without the diff drop? I figured the CV angles and the pinion angles would be way off and start breaking stuff.

    Axes

Right now I have a cheap little Truper Boy's Axe that I keep in the truck. It's a 2 1/4 lbs head with a 26" handle that works pretty well for small stuff. I usually have a chainsaw and use this as my wedge hammer. For $10 I couldn't pass it up. When I get a chance I'll switch it out for a full...

2007 GMC Sierra NNBS Build (slowly but surely)

Do you need bead lock wheels for overlanding?

Short answer, I would say no. There are a lot of things that can be done with non bead lockers. But, like already said, don't air down too far. I'll add a piggyback question if it's alright, are there any drawbacks to bead locks? (Besides price)

Figuring out how to utilize new storage

I like to use an ammo can as storage for my chainsaw kit. Gloves, ear pro, wedges, extra chain, extra 2-stroke oil, files and raker gauges. Bar oil and mixed gas stay in the bed with the saw. Might be good for storing recovery gear. Or make some partitions for it to organize a few smaller...

Member Introductions *NEW MEMBERS INTRODUCE YOURSELF*

Another newbie here. Live in South Georgia and work as a Firefighter. Driving a 2014 F150 FX4. Very new to overlanding. I'm interested in short 2-3 day trips that my wife and I can take around here when our schedules line up. Not sure how far we will dive in but I'm ready for any adventures we...

    My GPS Hardware Review

I'm curious, how does it actually mount to the dash? Did you drill the panel or does it go behind the cubby cut out? Any more pics of that, I'm interested in doing something very similar.

    General Tire X3

There are a few companies offering those "hybrid terrain" tires. Aggressive for an A/T but not quite an M/T. Cooper Discoverer S/T MAXX Nitto Ridge Grappler Toyo Open Country R/T All come to mind when looking at this new offering. I'll be keeping an eye on it.
