I have a matched set of Toyota 3rd members factory 4.375(4.38) gears. They are in good shape I just upgraded. Get them now while you can. If I do rebuild them the price will go up. I can get quotes for shipping if needed.
Pulled the front axle shafts today. Tommorow I plan on pulling the old 3rd member and putting the new one in to match the rear: 4.88s and a spartan locker

I have a first gen 1979 Toyota pickup and it’s probably the smallest of the bunch. The reason I love mine so much is it is just as narrow if not a little narrower than a Jeep and It will go anywhere I want it to. Lockers, lift, winch and some tires are all the mods I will ever need..... but...
Honestly I don’t like them simply for the fact that all the decent ones you will find cost more than I’m ever willing to spend. Wanted something to cover my bed as well and I have settled on making my own cover out of oil canvas.
Leers seem pretty good but they don’t have many custom options...
I wash mine every time I get done. Usually just take the power washer to it and regular garden hose with nozzle around the sensitive bits. I keep mine clean simply because I like my seals and gaskets to not leak from dirt damage. Plus it is easier to work on a clean rig rather than fighting dirt...
