Several items:
Rock Hard 4x4 bumper w/o swing-out tire carrier (now I can fully open the tailgate after installing the Morryde hinge & tailgate reinforcement, very solid feel) and the Morryde antenna mount (for the CB):
Fox shocks at all 4 corners:
Fox steering stabilizer (that was fun...
Even if a person doesn’t comprehend the Jeep wave, there is nothing wrong with being courteous and returning the gesture. “OMG, someone in a Jeep just finger waved me...what do I do...click my heels and say “there is no place like home” several times?! Wait, my personal cloaking...
Pilot training at Reese AFB back in ‘88. You could see ”The Strip” from quite a way out. Too bad the base was closed, what a great place for pilot training with Texas Tech...um, I mean Lubbock next door.
Matt’s OB Geocache 7395a discovered this morning and put back in its original location along with the items in the pics below (not sure what to do...) for the next OB member to discover. Nice view although did clean up a broken bottle next to the cache.
Matt, your cache has been discovered as of this morning. Not sure what to do with it so I put it in a plastic bowl with a pencil, notebook, OB decal and placed it back in its original location.
Installed a Morryde Tailgate Reinforcement this weekend. Had to drill out & cold chisel the rear pax seatbelt bolt, that was fun (a chunk of steel anchors the upper inside hinge bolts to one of the roll bar torx bolts). All previous bare metal prepped & painted prior after removing oe hinges...
Plan & go!
You’ll need a camp toilet & doody bags (must pack out your poo in addition to standard trash). I use a Cleanwaste camp toilet and either Biffy Bags or Reliance Double Doody bags. I keep disposable latex gloves in my “shit kit” to minimize “bio“ hazards. I also keep a small bottle of...
21 days, look forward to reading your trip report! We were at The Wall 12 Oct and at DH 2 14 & 15 Oct.
Yes, mission planning, prep/training, and practice is a must prior to venturing into a remote, difficult to access area. My brother installed a dual battery system with protections in his...
My brother and I spent six nights in the Maze District a couple of weeks ago. This was our third visit and brought us to the last remaining pair (Panorama Pt and Doll House 3) of the park‘s perimeter campsites. Our previous trips covered High Spur, The Neck, North Pt, Ekker, Millard, Golden...
What mount is attached to your spare tire holding the Rotopax cans?
Looks like the Rock Slide Engineering EZ Rack Kit Spare Tire Mount. Ordered. This will hopefully satisfy my 6 gallon fuel requirement with 2 x 3 gallon Rotopax. I’m doing a rear weight reduction by removing the current...
A piece of 5x5.75x1.75 foam. Not pictured is your standard, one each, Walmart heavy duty tarp/ground cloth (grey/silver top, brown bottom, w/reinforced corners).
Put my T3 on a Wallyworld tarp/ground cloth and a piece of foam between the pivot point and top of the storage bag (mostly to pad/protect the tent and Jeep TJ - sits perfectly across on top of the rear wheel tubs - on rough trails).
Just returned from a 6-night overland in the CANY Maze District (70s day down to 20s first 3 nights, upper 30s last 3 nights). Left the windows cracked overnight, open till sunset. Used the rainfly every night. No issues with condensation (30-40+% humidity) or ventilation (good thing after our...
Is the Bud can an option for increased load bearing?
Thanks! No RTT. Just to carry a Gazelle T3 ground tent, a Clam 4-sided screen tarp/shelter (small, enough for 2 w/chairs, table, cooler, mini bar...), and traction boards. Combined weight is probably slightly less than your ladders.
