For those people camping at the trailhead with us we will be on CB Channel 27. We can change channels in the morning or if Ryan knows what channel we will run on the trail?

I had the same trouble code. I racked my brain, two mechanics couldn't figure it out then a third mechanic poured water over the intake manifold and said, "hear that?"....I heard nothing but he said the injector seals were bad. $140 fixed the problem.

Looks like there are a few of us camping at the trail head. Do you know the area? As we get closer I will send out my phone number and we can coordinate.

We decided to camp in the dirt. One other vehicle will be joining us. Anyone who wants to join us can contact me. As we get closer we can coordinate and pick a camp spot and decide on where to meet the rest of the group in the morning.

I love seeing them getting used for what they were designed for. So many people buy Rovers to get the badge and then, like the previous owner of mine, don't know how to put them in 4wd.

Is there an official thread from OB somewhere? I started this thread just to stay in the loop. Seems like a lot of members have questions, if anyone involved with this thread finds "official" information please post a link here...thanks!!! and I will do the same.
I am concerned about leaving my rig in the hotel parking lot. We would like to camp somewhere near the beginning of the trail or at the meet up point. As we get closer if there are other people who would like to join us we can organize a camp site location. If anyone is familiar enough with the...
I feel really bad because MS_Disco started this build thread and it has turned into Disco owners thread. Please excuse me MS_disco but I need to lean on my fellow Discovery owners experience one more time. I have the 18" wheels. What is the lowest tire pressure you run? Land Rover seems to put...
Airing down depends on the vehicle weight, tire/wheel size and trail conditions. I can not stress how important airing down is. 1) the comfort inside is so much better because you don't feel every little rock. 2) the off road abilities of your vehicle goes up tremendously. Also consider the...
The thing I like best about the Chevy 180 is how it sits at 183 on the trail. I can let it idle all day and it never gets above 190. I drilled one 3/32" hole to let air out.

I had Q&E do the sleeves. They are minutes from where I work.
I also did the Chevy thermostat conversion which stabilized my temps. I run 184 most of the time. It climbs to 204 when I am going up a grade. Huge improvement over the 220-230 temps I got before the rebuild. I did the rebuild...
This is a great source for info:

Looks like it is Lucky8 doing the conversion. No kit is available yet, they are only doing it in-house.

It is a bad motor. As I understand the story Rover built the Discovery they designed it the have the TD5 motor it was unable to pass emission laws in the US. Sooo, rover bought the tooling from GM for their Buick motor. Worn out tooling plus a poor design produced countless motor failures under...
I have to agree with MS_Disco, that is the dumbest place for the coil pack!
I have to give a shout out to one of the nicest guys in the used Rover parts world. He knows Rovers inside and out.
