Sorry to derail your post dude :)
I’ll end on this: take a two week vacation to Austin before moving there. You’ll know within two weeks... honestly you’ll probably know within 4 or 5 days...

Yah... My wife is from Austin (Round Rock).... we tried living there for a bit after the Navy. After my hands got burned on the steering wheel a few times I was out... Too hot. Now in the PNW.
*By the way, Austin is just about as liberal as Cali...

Offroading more is a real easy fix... move out of California so you can work less, spend less, play more... not to mention other states have way less restrictions on play areas.
10 years gone and never coming back.
PM if you want to hear more...

That’s what I did on our Expedition. A full spacer kit from Truxxx. I didn’t notice a difference in ride quality at all, and like you said, it was dirt cheap :)

The Ford trucks/SUVs ride like Cadillacs in my opinion. Very nice ride.
The Toyotas ride more like Jeeps. Stiffer suspension.
The GMs ride good once you put Ford shocks on them, for better dampening curves. (Nor Cal Nick on the Diesel forums used to be able to help with shock cross referencing...
If you are in Denver and the PNW, you probably won’t be on anything too crazy tight/muddy like back east. Most likely more open, forest service roads and high dessert, correct?
I love our 2003 Ford Expedition short wheelbase. Seats 7 adults comfortably, 3:73 rear end with LSD, AWD mode, 4hi...

She is super excited, and we are working on it together, fixing oil leaks and doing tune ups...
Thanks for the tips! We are in maintenance mode at his point... replacing the bulbs in the instrument cluster, rear washer bottle grommet, valve cover gaskets and rear cam plugs (we have a 12V 3.0L), and oil cooler lines...

Wonderful thread! Coincidentally my oldest daughter has been saving up for about 8 years, just turned 16, so we pulled the money out of her account and picked up a one owner 1994 Montero RS for her :) SHE LOVES IT!
Following your build closely... and if you ever want to get your $40 back from...
BRILLIANT! So glad I was wrong about that...
Not sure why it wasn’t working on my iPhone months ago... I had the maps downloaded but the pointer wasn’t moving.
THANKS GUYS!!!
That’s interesting, and goes against everything i’ve read... but if you’ve tried it, i stand corrected... i’d like to see some literature saying that an ipad can connect to satellites though...

Not sure why everyone keeps saying that about the cell equipped ipads... it’s only assisted gps, and as soon as you get off grid, out of cell tower range, it doesn’t work at all.
You need a true bluetooth gps to function well on and off the cell grid. I suppose if you are using Gaia in a...
Good to know now that I sold it and lost a hundred dollars or so in the process...
That’s ok though, we didn’t really get along with the 4 burner with break apart hinge. Our new choice is simpler and smaller...
