I’ve got to say this was a great breakdown of your groups adventure. The video was high quality as well. I look forward to watching and reading more of your experiences overlanding. Well done.
Recently another Overlander pointed me in the direction of Ruthy Bush Cooking. He has two volumes that I ordered. I’ve tried two of the recipes so far and have really been impressed. I suggest picking up a copy of the recipe book.

Makes sense. I’m planning on getting out this spring. Lolo and Glacier are first on my lists. For now I’m enjoying snowboarding up at Bridger bowl and ice fishing.
I actually use a full size IPad. It really depends how much space you have available in your cab. The biggest suggestion I can give you is find a stand that won’t jiggle back and forth while driving on uneven terrain. It’s a real pain in the ass to focus on the map when it’s swinging all over...
One thing I’d like to do is figure out how to get my canoe to sit up on top of the Silverado. With the tonneau cover it obviously isn’t equal height along the entire length of the truck.
Always great to see a fellow Silverado owner. I have a 99 with a tonneau cover. I’m planning on putting a small lift kit on, installing a new ham and can radio set. Since I won’t be taking it anywhere really crazy I’m leaving the 265/75/16’s on it. One thing I would suggest is rockers to protect...
I hadn’t ever heard of that. I have since ordered both those volumes and am very much looking forward to trying some of those recipes out. I appreciate the suggestion, mate!
One of my favorite YouTube channels for overlanding is 4WD Action. They do an amazing job detailing their adventures around Australia and much of their videos show good techniques.
they ALSO do an excellent job of providing simple recipes to be cooked out on the trail. The videos are hilarious...
There are multiple types of tickets. The most expensive ones allowing you entry into various classes has been opened for sales first. General admission will begin to be sold next month.
I have a pole in my DD/overland truck and whenever I’m ahead of schedule I like to pull it out and throw a few casts. I live in Montana and there are some amazing places to fish.
I’m running a 1999 Chevy Silverado w/ a 5.3 Vortec engine. She doesn’t get the best mileage but she is reliable and enjoyable to drive.
She was involved in an accident before I bought her and has a big dent down the driver side but she runs fine.
I’m planning on putting a roof rack on, and a...
I bought a Yakima Skyrise 2 tent and broke half the Zippers by the first trip. The second trip started letting plenty of water into the tent. Yakima completely failed in the Roof Top Tent arena. Hopefully Thule does better.
