I'd love to see a wind tunnel experiment, but I'm betting that nicely streamlined air flow coming off your roof and sides are making all kinds of turbulence (drag) between your tailgate and trailer.
[edit] Nice trailer by the way!
I hope it's not an unpleasant surprise, but I think you'll be sleeping in the T3 diagonally. I'm pretty sure the "set up" dimensions are from the outer hub points, not interior floor space.
I'm sorry to respond here without an answer for you, but my question might lead to an option. I'm asking out of ignorance for my own education also.
Is it acceptable practice to spool a bit longer cable (or use an extension) and rely on a snatch block when you need to do more than a simple...
Croatan National Forest in Eastern NC is the same. Any spot that might be good for camping along the forest service roads are riddled with broken glass, shotgun shells and beer cans. Then there's random dumpings on the trails.
Roger that. I'm glad your weekend wasn't based on getting to wheel in SMORR and you had plenty of fun otherwise. I'm imagining a situation where I'd be pissed off if I traveled that far and was told I couldn't even get on the "bunny slope", but the guy in line behind me driving a raptor was...
Their website and rules (even on the trail map with rules) don't say anything about no full size vehicles, and why the exception for raptors unless they're just baiting ford drivers to get stuck on what are supposed to be exclusively jeep trails?
Thank you very much for posting your experience. I don't think you should be concerned sharing any real-world experiences with a product as these are exactly the type of anecdotes that help users pick what will be best for them.
I can second the fragility of the floor, I didn't think to mention...
I need to mention something about ventilation and the Gazelle tents (I have the T4 Plus). There is "sufficient" ventilation but the screen size they use does not let a breeze in. Heat can escape from the roof if you aren't using the rain-fly, but then you're in the sun unless you've got shade...
For really cold nights I go with cheap thermals from Wal-Mart, a stocking cap and some good socks (not tight). I've made a DIY set of climashield quilts that pack down pretty well and are plenty warm. Most campers already know this, but when buying sleeping bags, consider their temperature...
I would have assumed Whiskey and Syrup. They don't station ambassadors at the border handing bottles of each out as a parting "thank you for visiting gift"?
I have the T4 Plus (posted earlier in this thread) and since then I've used it a couple times. In the Oregon climate, it's probably awesome, but here in NC, it suffers a bit in the heat/humidity. The mesh is excellent for bugs but doesn't let in much of a breeze. Setup gets easier with a few...
Haven't measured it out yet, but my concern was less with what fits, and more about if, due to it's size, they can be load bearing.
Thanks all for the feedback.
Looking around online has yielded limited results for Full-Size truck rock sliders. Is there a practical cliff you fall off when you go full-size for rock sliders sturdy enough for protection/lift points? Anyone have a commercial source? I haven't looked at local machine/fabrication shops yet as...
I'm sorry that dealership soured your enthusiasm for the truck. At least now you have a plan and can custom-build something to suit your exact preferences.
Just bought a 2019 Rebel, I lucked out and found one in the exact configuration I would have built if I'd ordered it new:
5.7L
NO airbag suspension
NO E-torque bolted on
NO upgraded Info-tainment console
NO glass roof
Quad-Cab (only slightly less roomy than the Crew-Cab, but mine provides a...
