Winter Gear - Must Haves and Recommendations?

The only thing I can recommend has a must have for winter camping is a quality fire starter kit. You can have all the nice warm clothes, but you're still SOL if you can't get a fire going. If you can successfully get a good fire in rain and snow without exhausting yourself, you can tackle anything.

Dumbest thing you've done while working on your vehicle...

When I was 18 I rotated the tires on my truck, and forgot to torque one of them down. I went for a drive, and was across town when I felt and heard something terrible. I parked and found all my lugs being held on by one thread. My last truck I was installing helper springs. Back of the truck...

    OB Approved Members Spotted Thread

On Sunday Dec 18, while in my mazda traveling from Lompoc to Grover Beach I came across a black rubicon with black wheels, crazy beaver shovel, roto pax, hi lift, camo rubicon decals, and of course, a OB emblem on the fender. Of course I couldn't read the number, but sweet ride.

Do you NEED Lockers for Overlanding?

Good write up @Michael I look at lockers (and nearly every other modification) like a form of insurance. By that I mean, whether it's lockers, a snorkel, winch, recovery boards, snap straps etc. what's cheaper? What'a cheaper? A locker or a tow bill to get out of a whole you stuck in? What's...

I noticed the pinstripes on bumper that day, but I just noticed the dent in my door to go along with it yesterday.

    Hungry Valley OHV Ca

Sure did have a lot of fun with @SLO Rob and @Mad_Garden_Gnome even with the fried alternator, clogged radiator, and dented door. Usually I'm all about taking pictures and videos, however my mind was occupied by other things this day. Here's a clip of @SLO Rob taking a little hill. Sorry...
