I blame SXS's for ruining the trails out in Moab. Every trail I go on, there is some joker in a SXS going off trail or tearing things up with no regard for tread lightly. It's only getting worse each year.
Kane Creek is doable, Aaron chickened out :p Hell I just recently did The Pickle.
There are a lot of FSR's to the north of us in the Boise National Forest. But it's already starting to get chilly. Was down to 26 in Stanely this weekend. Brrrr. But I doubt there are any flushing toilets anywhere around here. Most everything I've ever seen has been pit.
It's a fun drive over...
Since getting the Drone and learning Final Cut Pro X I've been slowly feeding my own channel, which had been a dumping ground for clips until recently.

I still find that I love Instagram as a platform, especially since videos are limited...
Seems like one of those things everyone thinks would be awesome, and thinks they want, but no one uses or has ever posted how they used it to recovery themselves.
Save some money, buy a winch line extension and 3-4 Snatch Blocks.
Moab Testing
I frequent Moab quite a bit. So all this stuff needed some durability testing. And I can't think of a better place to test things, than a weekend trip to Moab. This past Labor Day, I took the family down to Moab to test all our new modifications. We were just there in May, so...
Electric Upgrades & Communications
So, you could spend like 500 something dollars for an S-Pod thingy because you can't wire, or you could spend $65 dollars and learn to do some basic wiring. Those S-Pods do not have $500's worth of electronics in them. Sorry, it's relays and switches. There is...
Final Touches
Painting
Since we modified the front bumper all the paint got removed. I considered for a good while powder coating the front bumper. But I scratched the hell out of it in Moab. So I decided the painting the bumper with a high-quality automotive paint might be a better idea. I...
Dethloff MFG Custom Build Stuff
So, my pal Marcus started up a fabrication business and I was to be his first customer. The plan, build me a custom Oil & Transmission skid plate, a custom Rooftop Tent Rack and if time permitted, build a custom rear high clearance bumper. With the long term plan...
Tire Upgrade
After installing the Thuren 1.5 inch Hemi coil up front, I went ahead and installed Toyo Open Country M/T's in 37x12.50R17
I love these tires. They fit the truck so well. And I'm going to be honest here, when wheeling in Moab, I feel like the 37's are a bigger difference...
I've done a lot of upgrades in the past few months, but have been behind with my build thread. But here are some highlights.
Modified Front Bumper
I had some problems with my bumper the way it was. Had a good friend rework all the welds, and weld the back side which originally was not welded...
Went and measured. Not sure where Ram gets that factory number. But it's 22 inches to the bottom of my sliders which sit a little lower than the rocker panel and 17 inches to the bottom of the axle.
I don't have any suspension modifications other than 37's - My truck is not as heavily modified...
I have been using Anderson Levelers on my Airstream for some time, they're great because you don't really need a second person. Just back onto them to level.
I just take them with me, and back my truck onto them depending on which side needs to be leveled. Works like a charm with the truck...
Everyone's definitions are different.
Yup, really depends on how you use stuff and what suits you. Even your platform can change the pros and cons.
One of the common themes, I've seen with RTT's is that setup because it's so high isn't as easy as it seems. Especially on SUV's.
For us, with...
