Got it off Amazon. Cheap hatch mount. Save yourself the money and trouble. Piece of crap. Going to just spring for a Diamond mount. A lot of guys say they hold up pretty well. This one loosens up and is no good.
So this weekend my son and I spent about 5 hours washing, polishing the scratches out and putting a nice coat of wax on the T4R express we dropped it off at the shop for the long overdue suspension upgrade. If my schedule works out, we should go pick it up on Thursday and will be sure to share...
Kind of wh
Kind of what I was worried about. Maybe for the long initial journey down we do up top. Once on the trail and just banging around we do the ladder mount. Thanks for the input.
Am I over thinking it or is it this simple! My son says, Dad, just bungee the traction mats to the ladder. No need to get crazy and make brackets. Seems pretty sturdy. What y'all think? Open for all encouragement and criticism. Thanks in advance OB members.
Last thing I bought was the new bumper from C4 Fab. Next I would like to buy a rear bumper with swing out arm. Doing some research to see what I go with.
Thanks. Unfortunately we are just getting a taste this trip. We are doing NC Tennessee and finishing through Mississippi. Then we take the highway home. Very difficult for me to get extended time off work. We plan on posting to Instagram and YouTube along the way. Thanks for checking in. Really...
So we started this thread on May 3, just a little over a month ago and today looked back at the first post to see what we have accomplished since then. Time flies and the days just seem to tick away with work and life in general, but we really have knocked off a good deal of our initial to do...
Breakfast: Bacon egg and cheese wrap, peanut butter on crackers and coffee
Lunch: sandwich and chips and some apples for desert (yes, lunch desert is necessary)
Dinner: pork chops with rice and beans
A little progress today, but progress nonetheless. Put the lamin-x on the fog lights. 1 part functionality 1 part personality. I like it. In hindsight I probably should have done the wet application rather than the dry. When I cut on of the tabs off it sliced a little more off than should have...
It's Sunday and a good time to give thanks. I joined this community because I know I'm not the smartest guy in the room. That being said, I would like to thank @A10MileHusker @JusticeZ33 and @halffastjohn for following the thread and being supportive both here and on Instagram. Our upcoming TAT...
@halffastjohn put me right on to the the smitty bracket above which I ordered right away. But, when I woke up I decided I didn't want to block the fairlead with anything so I went straight to Home Despot and spent $2 hard earned dollars and made a little something. Very sturdy and will now have...
If I leave the shovel/axe/Hi-Lift on the rack, no matter where I am, I lock it up. Just run a gun lock through them and around the rack or mount. It may at least deter them or give me enough time to hear something in my driveway and send out the lady of the house to introduce herself
My son uses the Petzl and I use the Black Diamond. I maintain I like the Black Diamond better. Seems to be brighter and also have the ability to dim it or use the red lens so not so bright. My son swears by the Petzl and that is either because he will refuse to say mine is better, or maybe he...
Have a great time! I wish I had enough time to do the whole thing. I definitely will someday. We have been doing a lot of planning and work to the rig. Will be documenting it on Instagram and YouTube. For our personal documentation, we will keep a daily journal of our experiences which I will...
