Nice 1st Gen. What are your plans?
I'm planning a fairly mild build on this one. I'll switch the running boards out for rock sliders, install some beefy skid plates, probably the ARB front bumper, winch, rear bumper with tire carrier, and I plan to paint it with red bed liner.

Just got back from the OBX in my X. It served us well in the flooding that was going on down there last week. I've got to get some lower gears though. It struggled a little coming back into the mountains. I got between 15-17mpg during the trip so I'm pretty pleased. Got my bumper the day before we left, but I just wrenched my back fixing my wife's Malibu a little while ago so I'm going to be down for a few days getting that righted.

My wife's Chevy is broken right now too. Lol. Sorry to hear about your back. Prayers for a swift recovery.

This Malibu has been a great car. We've had a few issues with it but nothing compared to the Suburban we had before. That thing cost me over a year of time, $3k, and most of my sanity and still couldn't get it right. It's due an inspection and the harness for the parking brake had rubbed through on a head shield and shorted out. A little solder, heat shrink and relocated the harness up a bit away from the muffler and it should get us another 130k miles I hope.

We've got a 2002 Astro that we love. It's a 4x4 and has been reliable for the most part. A coupler on the cooling system died on us recently. Not a big deal, just hard to get to. I'll probably keep the thing forever because 4x4 vans are hard to come by.

New member here that just found this sweet thread. Pretty work gents on all these killer rigs and mods.

I’m on my second 2nd gen and have thoroughly enjoyed this vehicle. I’m a charter captain and tow a boat or boats daily. I also guide hunters and needed a reliable and capable 4wheel drive

I’m thoroughly enjoying my 2012 Pro 4x and learning a ton from this forum on just how capable all of these rigs are w attention to build and purpose.

I hope to meet some of you guys on the trail somewhere!

Here are a few pics of my daily driver.
