Thanks for posting and sharing your adventure! Besides the fear of black ice, I would rather travel during winter most of the time. Although there is less foliage, crowds are usually smaller and you never have to worry about getting hot and sweaty after a 1-mile walk. Maybe these are only issues people from the humid south have. lol

Is it just the two of y'all traveling?

Thanks for your nice comments, after arriving at our destination, yep just the two of us, I was super tired and have been away from the internet for a bit to get settled. I am coming out of my hole again and just saw your comments. I feel the same about winter travelling, it was a great experience. Now to edit my video footage!

I just posted the first video from my road trip across Canada this past winter. :grinning:

I love a road trip and the thrill of discovering new places and seeing fresh landscapes. With every trip comes highs and lows and days that breeze by and those days that won't end. This trip was an opportunity to see my country in the winter, from one coast to the other. The winter weather was both challenging and amazing, this is a road trip I would highly recommend, but never repeat.

On day two we were headed into the mountains and snow. It would be our first mountain pass and I was a bit nervous. Seeing transport trucks and cars in the ditch as we travelled didn't help. Facing my fears we carried on and I learned once again, you can do a lot when you put your mind to it.

Onto Day 3 of our journey and this is definitely one of the most scenic days of the trip.
I was feeling more confident with my driving and was looking forward to the amazing scenery unfolding in front of us.
It was fun to see the places I visited in the summer under a blanket of snow, taking on a whole new beauty. It was a lovely day.

It occurs to me that one advantage of a winter trip is that there are few forest fires. We're wandering across Canada now and having to consider the impact of fires and smoke, which is significant - as bad as Australia!

True, no smoke is a pro. I lived in BC for many years and had fires really close to my home. Such a scary thing, the impact is hard to process at times. We are just in Saskatchewan and the skies are hazy with smoke from the fires. Just rolling a few days at a time and ready for detours as we go west. Safe travels.
