I'm a big fan of Lowry's.Seeing as I am coming from Motorcycle Overlanding and just getting into Vehicle style travel, I have always kept things very simple.
Salt, pepper, sugar and my favorite, Lawry's season salt.
Now that I have a larger vehicle, I will carry a lot more herbs/spices.

Yeah, I don't think salt and pepper should count ... Those are automatic for. I pretended it read, "What is one spice, other than salt and pepper?"Wow, I don't know how you pick just one. If salt doesn't count, then I think it's just pepper for me, especially if you're talking just ONE spice. Lots of the other things posted are spice mixes. If we're talking spice mixes, I like "Montreal Steak" seasoning on LOTS of things, so I guess I'd pick that - or one of my own concoctions. But if I really had to pick just ONE actual spice, excluding salt, it'd be pepper.
