In the process of outfitting my rig for this season...

Bought a 2pack of Wsky "tactical" flashlights for 9.99 that came up as a Lightning deal on Amazon. Going to keep one in the console and 1 in the cargo area.

Also, scored a new-in-box Coleman camp stove/grille at a relative's basement cleanup. The same cleanup also netted a new set of pots & pans and misc kitchen utensils to go along with it. So, other than a few odds and ends I scored my basic cooking setup for free.

Just delivered this afternoon: Snow Peak Pack & Carry Fireplace Kit with HD base to protect the ground, adjustable height grill attachment and grill, and carrying bag. Serious bit of kit. Was surprised how heavy this thing is; it's one rugged bit of kit.

A lot of places I go allow only firepits (some allow only propane fire rings when there's a burn ban) and when going back country it's nice to be able to contain your fire and not mar the ground and leave burn marks. This also is going to make cooking over fire much easier when setting up extended base camps. Doing overnight hikes and bike trips though, will be bushcraft style.

You can swipe the images below.

Auxiliary battery setup ordered minus smart solenoid and one breaker. Also picked up a set of Extreme LED's Bluetooth Rock Lights. I'd been shopping for some rock lighting and auxiliary camp lighting and for the price and ability to operate them with my phone, they could be a great choice.

Just hit "buy" on the OzTent RV5. My Kelty & Eureka tents have been great, but the rugged quality, quick setup, and flexible accessories of the OzTent are just too compelling. They aren't cheap, but compared to the RTT's and trailer tents I was looking at, it's not too bad (plus, that's why we've got credit cards, right?) Next, a trailer and some type of Thule box for the tent... That's my current endgame for the camping setup.

Hope you love your RV-5 as much as I like mine. Big pkg, but super easy set up and tear down, and rugged as all get out with a lot of built-in features you'll appreciate having.

Your posts were actually very helpful in the decision making process. You clearly put a lot of thought into your setup, so the fact that you like it is pretty instructive. I feel like this is the best solution for me and my family camping style, and I can't wait to try it out!

Well cool! Glad my experience helped.

Bought mine used, though in like-new condition, and got the front side panels (that helps make a front patio type space), reflectorized rain fly (that goes over the sleeping area), the connector with gutter deal, and the ground cloth, which is as large as the tent and 'patio' area combined. Also got two of the stretcher cots in the deal and two of the big comfy chairs, but have since sold the chairs as I prefer my FrontRunners. Easier to pack and I don't slouch as much. Have since bought the front panel to connect the two front side panels so that area is enclosed, and also got the caravan connector, which is an awning extension of sorts you can slide right into the track a lot of RV's and trailers have.

The RV-5 may be too long/big for a Thule box when packed up. It's a long roll. Has a nice rugged weather-resistant cover. I'm thinking about strapping it along the side of my trailer on the right fender and locking it to the cargo rings fore and aft. Might even make a lockable side box for it and the extra poles. The poles, by the way, are wonderful and lock tight at any length. Inexpensive, too, direct from OZTent USA. Great folks to work with, in my experience.
