My rig “Mauka” 2023 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X did the opposite of off-roading…. I got the opportunity to take her to the Talledega Speedway and do a few laps on the track! In one way it was “kinda” overlanding….. she got to climb the 33 degree banks in turns at 75 mph. Those bad boys are steep! Television does not do them justice! Awesome day with my son who was behind me in his 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I broke two EGR bolts, then broke the extractor trying to take them out....It's funny now but the Donald in me showed up when it happened....

I completed an install of a power management tray with fuse block for my SwitchPro last night. Had a reputable mechanic install the switchpro but I didn't realize the spaghetti bowl of wires, looms, and harnesses he'd leave behind would flare up my ocd. : )
Also the mounting of the switch pro bolted horizontally to the fuse box voids its warranty so....
Before and after photos below.

Finishing up the last of the repairs on my 2004 Discovery after our club year end camp out :
  • Replaced both front hubs - left front was going
  • Replaced the Water pump was leaking out of the weep hole - it was a beautiful Bronze impeller pump 10 + years old, now a sheet metal impeller
  • Battery started to fail on the trip as did the starter (was hoping just battery no such luck) - replaced battery
  • Starter is failing new arrives from the UK this week with luck
This why I do post-trip inspections and pay attention to my truck, none of it is world ending and most of it is just age.

The solar cabinet is starting to take shape. Tomorrow's goal is to finish the remaining connections and wrap the exterior. Hopefully I will install this cabinet soon so I can begin the pull out kitchen!
