Went to Wilderness Trail Off-Road Park and three states today, via the Cumberland Gap. First the park... Which had numerous trails that we found cutoff due to run-off that had widened simple cross ruts to large chasms...View attachment 2635
I really wanted to climb this to the top (it is steeper than it looks), but the wife was changing colors, indicating altitude, inclination and attitude... (none of which were impressing her) by face color, eye openness, and voice pitch...

Then various state crossings...

image.jpeg Installed my new auxiliary fuse box. My last one was by passing the fuses and just supplying power. Kind of defeated the purpose. The last one used blade connectors, this one uses ring so I had to cut, crimp and heat shrink everything but it looks pretty clean now so I'm happy with it, and this one works right which is a nice plus.

My rear bumper has two spindle but I was only ever using the one for the spare. I finally made a left side carrier for water and a few other tools.
I've got the attachment built, I'll show it off again when it all gets painted and prettied up.

Sent from the future using outdated technology. On Tapatalk.

Had my cb tested today. It was perfect. I just used a window mount Tram and maybe I expect to much 3/4 mile is the range. Got my switch panel mounted and wired. The cockpit area is getting small.

Not just soccer moms! Take a peek at @FozRoamer's Forester, or any number of the rides on the Offload Subarus Facebook page. They are very capable vehicles.
No doubt about it. I've seen several ridiculously well built Foresters and Crosstreks, and they are outstanding vehicles. I even spent time on the trail with one and they are seriously capable AWD vehicles. If I had the time to tour the country on and off road, it would likely be in a Subaru for the combination of back-country readiness and on-road economy.

I'm currently in the process of talking my wife into dropping her VW GTI for a Crosstrek now:grin:

I was joking. I was actually the one that seriously pushed her into the Subi. Although I thought we were going to go with an Outback. She has driven an Audi Q7 for the last little bit and its a great car but when you look at price and just how darn big the vehicle is, I really thought the Subaru made sense. We live in the snow and I know I can trust my wife driving one. She liked the look of the Forester way more than the Outback and well.....she's the boss. :)

The license plate light on my tire carrier was flickering. The product description on Amazon said it was waterproof, but I could see water inside the lens. So I removed the lens dried it out with my heat gun (aka mans hair drier), and it worked like a champ, so I re-installed the lens with a liberal amount of rtv and now I should be good to go.
