Some may remember last year I took a trip on the Trans America Trail, which is a 5,000 mile trail from Andrews NC to Port Orford OR that is made up of forest service roads, Jeep trails, and looging roads. The trail is roughly 80% OffRoad the whole time. Last year I was rerouted allot due to snow so I was unable to do all of the trail. This year I will be doing another trip where I'll take the TAT to the west coast then down the PCH to LA go to Mojave Rd get on rte66 and then come home. I will be taking my better half of 14yrs with me this time and we are totally stoked about the whole trip. I will have nightly updates on here and you are welcome to follow along with the following

YouTube - Search #USAONDIRT I will be trying to get a video a week uploaded
Facebook.com/USAONDIRT
Instagram @USAONDIRT

This will be an awesome trip and with Kristi coming with me it should be very entertaining to say the least. Stay tuned and hope y'all enjoy!!

**Warning, Kristi and I are complete novices and you will probably see us doing lots the hard way or wrong way, It's ok!!!**

This looks like an adventure to add to my bucket list. I see you vacationed and took your time on this trip from East to West coast on the TAT. Do you know if this can be done in 5-days vs. 20+? Not that I would want to speed through it, stop, take pictures, sleep enjoy the surrounding and so on.

Thank you in advance!

Good to know!! Thank you for sharing. I did a search and some guy said he did the math and thought he could in 3-4 days. I thought that was a stretch, considering he was not taking into consideration the terrain he was driving. Thank you again.

I really enjoyed reading about your trip and your trip pictures. This is on my list now!

I think it could be done with effort. The problem is that dirt roads you can't go freeway speeds the math says you can. 3000 miles 5 days 600 a day. And I assume that you are going less total miles. I say give it hell and see what you can get done.

HAHAHA, Thanks for the encouragement. I'm not sure my job would be too excited for my trip to be extended though. But I like your style!!

Well it's 5000 miles if you avg 45mph and 8hr a day that would be 13 days.

Here is my channel where I passed the videos. The first trip #TrailOnTAT was partial Trans America Trail because of snow. The second trip #USAonDirt was in its entirety. I did get off trail for a day to go to Yellowstone.

Thank you for the share. I will check this out! 13-days isn't bad. It would be hard not to check everything out.

Both times I complained about the same thing, TIME!!! The first time I was limited to a month because I needed to be at an even and the second time I was limited to a month because of my wife's work. Both times I felt like I could never catch a break and was always going going going. My next trip I will pick a location and explore that area for a month. I'm going to start in the 4corners later this year.
