Sorry - just posted on the Monday trip thread. Still having trouble as to where to post. LOL

Hopefully Jeff and Elan were able to find a camp site we headed home after making it out to the 243 at the lake.

Ok. Just read the post. I was Just curious since last time I tried the run earlier this year one of the ruts wanted to eat my bumper and I lost a fender liner in mud. Still planning to go tomorrow morning.

Just a word of warning . If you are planning on camping at black mountain. All the sites are full. I negotiated with some people at a group site. I traded a taco for a spot in there group. Also we (I) drove past the turn for Indian creek truck trail. If you pass it, if will put you on bee canyon. Be aware there is a bit of soft silty/sand on that trail. No problem for 4x4 , but make sure your 4x2 have good tires .

Such a bummer! I'd be up there with you today had things gone according to plan! Unfortunately, these bad tires on the Rover make me nervous doing any kind of off-asphalt travel....hopefully next time my family and I can make the trip! Enjoy the hell out of it guys, get plenty of pics, recruit some OBers and drink a brew for those of who couldn't make it!! We're there in spirit! Hahah!

We did, just a quick note your truck is on old KO's not much tread left, I had two spares just in case. There are not a lot of "sharp" rocks you have to drive ove and pretty easy to drive over most of the rocks in the trial that are there.
Ahh I would definitely try it BUT the rear LH side tire has a big gouge in the sidewall, like someone tried to stab it or something and failed. I got the car from a young kid who got it from his uncle or something and the kid NEVER took care of it. Luckily it wasn't too far gone, but unfortunately the things it NEEDS badly are the expensive things lol. Tires being one of the major ignored things on his list haha. Besides that, I believe the brakes all need redone and the system bled and refilled.

Gosh I sound like a book of excuses...lol long story short, I just don't trust the rig fully right this moment, and lack the cash to get the things in order than need to be in order. [emoji847]

Most of the time I was in first gear idling - brakes got more of a work out then the engine did. Trail starts at over 6,000 ft and goes down, then back up some.
