I have been visiting the Maine Northwoods for the last 3 summer-fall seasons. Visiting the Maine Northwoods
requires solid planning especially when going solo which I do 90% of the time. Much thanks to fellow forum member
Wigsajumper for posting a cleaned up GPS campsite file for the Northwoods. I have spent the last two of three seasons
cataloging campsites (trainspotting for americans) I either drive by or stay at and attach the pictures and/or additional
comments to the existing GPS way points. the attached screen shot shows black pins (I haven't visited), white pins
(places I have visited or stayed at), red pins (checkpoints), blue pins (campsites along the St John river) brown pins
(water refill, cell signal or other points of interest) yellow pins (are UFO sightings) and red lines are saved tracks!

I started this journey with a 2010 VW TDI Tourareg and painfully transitioned to a 2015 Toyota 4runner when my VW TDI
Touareg was totaled while parked. as much as I hated my 4runner after losing my VW TDI Tourareg I wouldn't trade it
for the world now. I have been building this 4runner up slowly and love the aftermarket support for it that my prior VW
didn't have. as overwhelming as the Maine Northwoods may be on the first trip, it gets way easier with OnX. speaking of which
the route builder option works really great for the northwoods just beware that bridges get washed out and solid dirt roads
do disappear and end in the middle of nowhere. one more suggestion I usually fuel up at the St Francis checkpoint before
heading back south, there is a very friendly gas station 1000' past the checkpoint with fuel and cold beer!

Wow! This looks like a REALLY comprehensive documentation!! I love it!

How does some get the gpx file with all your pins and labels?
I wish I could export them. I have tried a few times before but OnX chokes every time saying the file is too big...sorry :(

if anyone has any ideas for a work around, let me know, thx

getting north maine woods season year stickers are hard. they seem to usually come in just before moose season. I try to get one, two and sometimes three every season. this year they were not available all of my three visits in late summer.
on my last visit I told the checkpoint attendant this and she stated she would mail me one when they came in and hooray, she did! thanks Roxanne, "three is a magic number" your awesome!

....and now I want donuts. Their Maple bacon is awesome.

Hoping to make it up there more this season myself. Glad that gpx file was useful. Does Onx Offroad have a share option to other onx users?

exporting as a single file not an option due to size as mentioned already but I guess there is a share function after all...I honestly hadn't noticed it till I looked for it. here are a few test links.
