The WJ is one step closer to being ready for some trips. Got the new mounting for the roof basket done, just need to paint it and bolt it back on. In the evenings this week I want to get the fenders cut and get started on the bumper.

Maybe if I get this thing ready in the next few weeks we can do a social distance drive somewhere!

Thanks, the goal was to get everything as low to the roof as possible. Still not sure if the light setup is going to work to my liking. I used bar clamps to attach to the rack , with the tube being curved and the direction I have the clamps pointed the middle spot lights are angled out a little. Still need to take it somewhere when its dark so I can get them aimed and see if it work or if I need to come up with new mounting for them to point straight ahead.

Made it out to the woods on a bit of a shake down trip this weekend. Camped off the little Naches and ran around some of the roads up there and over by Bumping Lake, still a lot of snow. A couple of the places I wanted to get into were blocked with snow so I'm gonna have to make another trip over in a month or so. 20200509_083645.jpg

missing front bumper?
Just didn't put it back on after the last round of work. Hope to make some more progress on the new one this week. It would be nice to get it together so I can put a winch on, didn't get stuck this weekend but I might have tried to push it a little more if i had one. I'll let you know next time I head over that way if you're interested. There is a couple places I still want to check out by bumping lake and then all the trails around little naches. The places by Bumping lake are Copper City and Granite Lake if you want to check them out. The road to Granite lake is steep and rocky, didn't make it too far before there was a deep drift blocking it. Made it a ways up deep creek rd to copper city, clawed my way through a bunch of snow but finally got to some longer sections that were deep so I gave up and turned back.

Got some more worked knocked out on the Grand! Front fenders trimmed and got the center section of my bumper welded up and mounted. Now I need to figure out how I want to do the outer wings, then rhino line it and mount the winch. Hope you're ready for some trail runs @JL Lou, I got a couple in mind that I'd like to go check out when this thing is ready!

Once the wings are done there will be more sheet metal to trim and relocate the washer fluid tank but that's easy stuff, I'm getting excited to see the outcome...

It is looking awesome. Great job on the fender trim, you must have a steady hand.

I am super ready to go hit some trails. I have been adding them to my GAIA app every time I find a new one.
