Did you start the Evans canyon fire? Just kidding, I was going to head up there tomorrow, but Fire.
I don't think I started it, but from what the reports have said it started right around where I passed through on Friday. The grass and under brush in the area is super dry so I was pretty careful to stay on the road/trail. I did however get stuck behind some dumbass that was flicking the ash from his cigar out the window as I first got onto the FS roads, wouldn't surprise me if he did something else stupid that started it...

I should have went with you. I haven't gotten much done on my projects due to the heavy smoke and ash coming down. Here are some photos from my house around 6 PM last night.

Our club is doing a overland trip to Quilomene Bay and camp in the Nanuem Ridge State Forest this weekend. We have room for a couple rigs. Send me a message if you want to go.

Kendall Skyline is open and fire free, made the run from Dayton to Tollgate today with my son (wife enjoyed free time to herself), truck looked like it made a color run, all desert khaki, from the dust. Good day! Just figured I would throw the info out there for those thinking of where to go based on the recent fires. May head towards Blue Slide then over the back to Rimrock tomorrow, after checking fire updates. Hope everyone has a good and safe long weekend.

Yep, Last time I was in the blues, I had the soft top on the jeep and had to take it through a touchless car wash to get all of the dust out of the fabric.

I just ran that area a few weeks ago with only the bikini top. The YJ is still full of dirt. One long section of Kendall Skyline was just powder.

I can’t even imagine being behind someone in that, much less in an open YJ. You’d need a full respirator just to breath back there. My bed is full of dirt/silt from it. Hopefully you were being a little willing to wait for it to settle. I hit several of those stretches and it looked like the ground exploded under me.

The dust going to Blue Slide was deep silt in a few places too. Below as the saying goes “one of these things ain’t like the others” . Needless to say they were laughing and shaking their heads as they went past on their way up, but were laughing with me when I pulled in. Think they were a little surprised at a full sized stock height Ram that picked its way across the rock fields with no damage.C1828CEC-4A38-41C1-8426-4372C67A5A1B.jpeg

How was the run to Quilomene Ceg?
Need pics, sounds like a fun place to go to. Just didn't work for my schedule, had to go to Portland today. Not sure I quite fit into your Jeep group either lol.
