I was up in the Olympic mountains today, a place conducive to bio degradation (lots of moisture in the form of rain and snow). The way to ensure it waste paper will hang around is to leave it on the surface. This is what I found at one very popular site on the side of Mount Elinor. Disgusting and sad a person thought so little of the environment and those that follow.

Packing it out is always best if possible.

My original post on this topic asked about SOP. I mentioned that I've spent considerable time in the woods which required a release or two. So, my main reason for asking about SOP was about doing your business during an OB rally (e.g. Pulling a rig out of a convoy to the summit finding privacy in an arid California). Of course I'm from Washington which is not so arid and the rain forest provides ample concealment.
