The only way I can imagine that would happen is in transport with something heavy on top of it, did I guess right? Or what happened? I follow them on IG and I'm sure Jerry would be very responsive to a problem, although it is just a 79 cent eyebolt.
I usually run my burner down, not up against the disk, seems to me to get too hot in the center, but full disclosure, I built my own years ago although it is very similar. I just can't see that breaking from the need for torque, love to hear about it though.

I Just got it today... was turning the eyebolt in as a dry run.. first one started really hard, but loosened right up after about a half inch... second one did not... went to back it out and it just snapped... contacted Jerry, he’s sending me a new disc Monday!

Wow, that's an expensive mistake on his part, to not quite get a little 5/16 hole threaded right, but good to hear he's making it right. Just retapping the hole would probably solve the problem but you paid to have it right the first time I'm sure. I do know he has a recently new process for making the disks which has been pretty cool to see on IG. Sorry I couldn't answer your original question but thanks for the explanation!

I'm concerned about doing that myself. I just got one and it does not seem like they taped those holes.... I posted here to see if anyone knew if that was normal or not. I also sent Tembo a message, hopefully I hear back from them tomorrow. Did the new one come tapped?
