I'm trying decided which one I should do first, sliders or lift. I have already added skid plates, and a set of A/T tires. I have a lot of ideas on what I want to do to my rig. I would also like to add on a onboard air system. I do a lot of soft roading and I also enjoy mountain biking which is why I would like a onboard air system. I have been on a few adventures and haven't found the need for a lift but it would open up the possibilities of future expeditions. Please leave my your feed back and suggestions on what you think I should do first. Thank You!

After tires, my first modification was a small suspension lift, mostly to handle the extra weight of things like sliders and a rear bumper. You're already running heavier than stock on your stock suspension, so an upgrade/lift might be in order.

Of course, there are much more knowledgeable folks here that'll weigh in as well...

If I had it to do over again I would do sliders before suspension. My thought is the truck should be protected first.

I struggled with this quandary but eventually went with the lift first. But that was after a 3 week trip bouncing off the bump stops with 4 people and a full load of gear. If you travel light, then go with skids for more vehicle protection. Eventually you add both (because that's what we do), but think about how you use the vehicle now and the roads you travel and decide if ground clearance or rocker protection is the priority.

"I never worry if I get lost....I just change where I want to go!"

That was my calculation as well- I don't travel light, and adding armor without suspension would have made for a very crappy ride. Of course, I was lucky- I added the suspension and then the sliders only a month later.

A lift will get you A. room for bigger tires B. more articulation (travel) if you go suspension. If you just got a set of tires, go with armor and gear. Once you're used to those, you should know what kind/height lift you want.

I had the same dilemma of lift or sliders and decided on the sliders because protecting the rig is important to me. But a lift is next on the list.

Sliders!

I went with sliders before lift and am happy I did.
It really comes down to your needs. For me, my stock suspension felt great and worked for everything i was doing. So i wanted protection and a lifting point for a hi lift. I was also in places that damage was a possibility and clearance wasn't as much of an issue.
