I’m looking at the Slee rear bumper with swing outs. They offer a tow receiver option but it’s not rated for towing. Anyone have experience with these?
The Slee is a top notch, super overbuilt bumper for the 80. Truly a work of art and I’m glad I spent the extra money on it. I have the receiver installed as well but have not towed a trailer with it. I would have no reservations to tow if I needed to though. It attaches to the bumper, and the bumper attaches to the frame using grade 10.9 M12 hardware. The receiver itself also attaches directly to the frame near where the underbody stock tire carrier is.
It is a long costly process to get the bumper “tow rated” by DOT so most manufacturers don’t bother.
What he said. They aren't officially rated to tow but they certainly will hold up to the task. I installed the Slee Shortbus front bumper today and it's very well built and looks great.

I haven't even thought about that. I wonder if there would be way to rig a mount of some sort that comes out from under the hood like some of the light mounts but towards the front obviously. You've got me thinking now...
