Roof Rack Addition

We put a Gobi rack on our Jeep but once the tent was on there was no way to store any gear up front. So I built a box to mount at the front to store some extra gear. View attachment 158051

Next painted and added some tie down points.

Then installed into rack with some conduit clamps.

Then loaded up with a box and some firewood.

There was no way to simply rig carriage bolts, fender washers, and eye nuts through the Gobi Rack, and strap the boxes directly to the Gobi Rack?

There was no bottom section at the front of the rack. I could order the panel that goes in there but it would probably take 3 year to get one. Material cost was low for what I built.

Ahh. Makes sense now. Effective replacement.
