When it comes time for sliders i am straight up going to buy a Harbor Freight pipe bender and hodge podge some together with 1.25" schedule 40 steel pipe. But my Montero is a feather weight compared to these trucks.
I've been debating that if i should go with some schedule 40 or 80 vs some regular DOM

Looks fun! Would love to borrow that for an afternoon!
I am also a welder, (pipefitter) by trade.
Lots of fab shops only stock DOM, for a couple of reasons, but mostly cause they don't want to risk accidentally use seamed tube on a cage.
For the average garage guy building bumpers and sliders, a few bucks can be saved by not using DOM.

Nice, But a little pricy.
I have these on my 5th gen RAM 1500. Kind of pain to install. You would think it's simple bolt-on, but was more of a pain than my hidden winch mount. They already saved my truck from damage a few times.

I went through the same process- white knuckles are the best for a true slider, the rest are just steps on thin wall that mount to the rockers, and in most cases hang down to far. I have a garage and can MIG so it’s doable. Don’t expect to be able to use a hi lift on them as they will be almost a foot off the frame rails. Round tube is cool but a decent tube bender will run you more then a MIG welder. I stuck with rectangular tube for ease of cut and paste. They go away from a side view- but work as steps also. This was when new before getting rid of the plastic chrome wheels.

been on a year with no issues other than I would powder coat instead of color matched them. I used legit paint and the two part clear and it’s chipped pretty good.

Nice, But a little pricy.
Ordered these for my rig, just waiting for them to ship to the local Freight place so I can go pick them up.

Save some patience up for the install, the gas tank side will be fun. I built my own but there’s no easy way to do it since they sandwich around the frame.

here’s the shade tree version after a year- I think they will take custom orders if you want to change the step part. They make a nice product that’s worth it if you can swing it.

My JK came with rock sliders, but I really do not know how much abuse they can handle.

I have seen a video of a guy who says it's safe to jack from the slider.

Why would you need to? I've never, ever, jacked anything there.

Ford Super Duty mechanical bottle jacks are $20 at any junkyard and have enough throw for lifted trucks.

I've jacked by the wheels with a highlift, by the tow hooks, by axles with a bottle jack, and by the frame with two transmission jacks to do a lift kit install.
