You will love this rig. The 80 series was designed at Toyota finest hour. We have one since 1998 and it went through a few transformations. We love it. Put 90K miles in the last 5 years since the 1HDFT/H151 transplant. We take it on 2-9K miles trip at a time.

cheers mate!
so far my favorite build yet!!

Ironman 4x4 really did an awesome job installing the new lift kit.
With this old truck, there's a bit of rust to get through; they had to drill and tap some stuff, but overall, no shortcuts were taken.
The kit I went with was the 4" RHD Foam cell pro kit they have on their site, but they added the control arms. My bushing was beat, so they also swapped the radius arm bushings for some new ones.
Overall I got 3" over whatever I had (Frankenstein suspension that it came with).

Are you running 33" tires? If you go any bigger than 35, I have seen vibration happen when driving at certain speed. ;-)

These low-range gears are pretty awesome. I tested them out with the most rutted, steep spots I could find, and it just crawled up with the locker on.
Sumo transfer case low range 3.1:1

Got my White Knuckle sliders on. 4th set of sliders, I put them on every build. I was nervous about the diesel fitment, but it worked out great. No cats to work around ;)
I ordered the tilted / 69" full-length version, which still worked with my mud flaps.
Anyway, I dig them. ✌

Power steering never felt so good.
-new steering pump
-rebuilt steering box
-upgraded 105 sector shaft
-new hoses and reservoir
-temp fix for the cracked frame common where the steering box bolts on. Will weld in plates to permanently fix it soon.

Next up injectors/pump rebuild and ARP head studs.

Where are you sending the IP and injectors? I’ve dealt with a place in Portland on my engines. 2 1HDT and one 1HDFT. Just bought another 1HDFT that will be taken care there.
Truck looking great.

I have a few suggested places but the best price / turnaround time was Black Fox Diesel in Canada. Rads cruisers suggestion. He said about $1850 for pump and injectors. Includes parts and labor. And 1 week turnaround.

Headed to Overland Expo West. The cruiser will be in the Expion360 booth if anyone wants to come check it out. Gotta represent the 80s in the sea of whatever the latest gen of Tacoma is.
