there is an 8" and 10" burner on the equator. 1800w max draw.Awesome setup - thanks for sharing your progress. We went all electric last year and it has generally been good - summertime is fine with 2Kw solar and we rarely run the AC. With a bit of heat pump from the Houghton in the morning we typically use 300-400Ah of electrons overnight from 1060Ah available. Wintertime means less sun-watts, so thinking about putting a small 2Kw Diesel heater where the black tank used to be (will repurpose the black tank wash opening for Diesel fill of a suitable tank. That should take the edge off of the cold when needed. In addition to the solar we have 1500w of onboard generator power from the F250 Tremor (sold as 2Kw, but really only delivers 1500w) and 90A of DCDC charge - horribly inefficient when parked, but inconsequential when underway (3Kw of engine output is like 4hp, resulting in no discernible change to the 13mpg we get while towing at 65mph).Been taking steps to remove the propane. swapped out the propane oven to an induction range. This coming week I am goijg to be installung a 12v dc fridge (maine propane consumer) not worried about power as spring/summer is on the way and Ill have plenty of sunbattery coming in. I am planning one changing to a 24v system. The efficiency is a little better, and can use smaller wire gauge for the inverter, and future 24v air conditioner plans. Will have about double the battery bank in the same space.
Lota of good views out and about, been through AZ, NM, TX, LA, AR and MO since my last post here. A couple of pictures of my stops. I am terrible at taking pictures of places I go so there are not many.
Really like the look of the induction stove you installed. Our RecPro is OK, but the coils are a bit small, so using anything beyond a 6" pan means either hot spots or going slower at lower power. I can't seem to find the coil size for the Equator - are you able to provide?
I currently have a diesel heater and its amazing. In my quest to remove propane I'm hoping to be able to get an Aquahot gen 1 diesel for water heat and air heat. My current power useage is pretty low, the fridge will about double my overnight useage (thats with starlink always on).
Im sitting at 1.4kwh of solar and 600ah of battery, when i go to the 24 system im replacing the batteries with 2x 24v 280ah batteries so effectively double my current swtup. Im nit worried about swaping those out immediately due to summer coming up and having plenty of solar generation. I do have a 3000w generator that works well and i have had to use in winter. 10 hours of work 4 days a week need the laptop plugged in and uses a lot of battery.
