Something l found handy while traveling...is an Essential ltems Bag. Located within easy grasp of drivers compartment. In there would be...tools for making simple field repairs; couple screw drivers, pliers, side-cutters, visegrips, test light, zip-tire, adjustable wrench, electrical tape, box-cutter/exactoknife, some wire/terminals/butt connectors and wire stripping tool, and emergency items; lighter, matches, small compass...and half roll of TP (half roll is easier to flatten and jam in your pocket and less obvious, if l had a dollar for every rest area or campground that was out of TP).
During one of my shakedown runs, had a small issue, tail-light out. No biggy, right? Well...every tool l'd brought...was stuffed inside a tool storage bag in the footwell of second row seating...underneath a boat-load of other gear. So, after ten minutes of unpacking several items...my hands finally came in contact with a screwdriver...to complete the two minute repair...and then the repacking began.
Another item l found very beneficial during my last outing to Alaska...was Windex (window cleaner). Each evening l would clean my windshield, guaranteeing a clear view each morning to start the day. Sometimes it was necessary to clean the windshield twice a day. And l was later in the bug season, could not imagine going during the height of bug season.
