Problem and a Suggestion for the site.

First the "problem"
So I am on the member map, but i didnt get the badge for it. =(

Second is my suggestion for the site.
Would be really cool to have a way to add members you have met in person and have it show on your profile page. It would be something a little trickey to implement, but i dont think it would be impossible. Basically, you have a spot where you can type in something like @member_name, then you clikc "confirm". THis would send a message to the member asking for confirmation. If they confirm you are "linked" (maybe a moderator needs to approve? either way think of it kinda like a friend request for "in person meetings". Once complete, on your profile page you can see the people you have met (a profile list of people you have met in person). Others could also visit your profile page and see who you have met in person. I think this could be a really nifty idea and would encourage in-person-meetups. Plus it would make it easier to see what the people you have traveled with are up to.

What badge are you looking for on the Member Map?

And an interesting suggestion. Have you considered using the "follow" feature to keep track of people that you have met? If you don't use it to follow other members for other reasons, it could be your "people I've met" list. It works as you describe, allowing people to visit your profile and see who you follow.

Yes I use follow. Just thought it might be cool to have an "in person" list.

I thought there was a badge for making yourself "known" on the member map. At least that is what it says on the signup page.

It would, and I'll suggest it in the moderator discussion. Didn't know if you knew about the Follow feature, though, which could be used similarly.

Ah, okay. Yes, the Traveller I badge is awarded for adding your location in your profile, and turning on "Show on Map" in the preferences. You didn't have the latter set. I just toggled it on for you, so the next time the system updates, your badge will be automatically awarded.

If so I met with 2 other OB members this weekend and we did "Hurricane Creek to Max Patch". The proof is in the photos and videos =)

Yes, there is. You need to submit a request for it, though. Go to the "Badge" tab on the forum, and select the "Overland Bound Ambassador" track. Under that, you will see "Member II" Submit a request there, and I'll approve it.
