That’s right Ripley! It almost seems like, if you know how to use and remember to bring it along, there’s a good chance it’s gonna be needed. Usually by someone other than you! Haha

Cool name by the way! You an “Aliens” fan? Im a big time fan over here.
Nope, just my name. I mean the movie is decent and all. My last name is Ripley. I’ll take the Aliens reference over hearing believe it or not for the billionth time though!

Ordered 4 jerry cans today :) . My swing-out tray was designed to hold my 7 gal water jug, my 45qt RTIC Cooler, and 2 of these jerry cans. However, in an emergwncy, it can hold either two of the water jugs and 4x jerry cans, or 3 water jugs and 2x jerry cans.

Honestly, it will probably depend on my destination and the emergency. If I am reasonably confident we will be okay once we get to the planned destination, I'd probably prioritize the gas over the water to increase our odds of actually making it. If things are a little less certain, water might take a greater priority if I am worried we might be stuck out for a while. Of course, either way I'd probably try to take it all, but thats how Id prioritize things.

And, I will probably need to make sure the tray is covered with a tarp, because its contents would probably look like liquid gold in a mass evacuation.

My thought process is to be prepared in stages: A- All the time, B- Daily, C- Should there be some sort of disaster - natural or otherwise.

A- Whenever legal I always carry a folding knife. My coats and jackets all have a short piece (5' ) of paracord, a book of matches and a tube of chapstick (fire starter in a pinch, lip balm and can be used to slow bleeding). These three items will pass through TSA security. My billfold has a couple adhesive bandages, a butterfly bandage, a needle and a safety pin. My keychain has this small multi tool attached. Also TSA acceptable.

B- Whenever possible my EDC pack is the vehicle that I am currently in. At work it stays locked up in the parking lot due to firearms restrictions. It contains everything that I would need to get home in case of an emergency or have to make it without support for a few days. I built the same pack for both of my sons less the pistol. Remember to include at least a couple days of medication if applicable.

C- My pickup is equipped to work as a SAR point or a potential bug out vehicle. It is always loaded with equipment and supplies to support my family and dog. The seat back pouches contain a standard first aid kit and a separate trauma kit with blood clotter and a stapler, which have both come in handy for both fellow hunters and strangers when we were a long way from a hospital, Surefire flashlight, water, fire extinguisher, gloves, pet supplies(food, treats, collapsible water bowl and a leash), misc. tools, energy bars and a little "anitfreeze" along with the other items pictured. The saddle blanket on the back seat does duty as a seat cover, ground cover when shooting prone and a blanket.

My choices in items are based on a lot of years of making sure I had the things that I actually used and over packing and carrying totally worthless items until I realized that I would never use them.

My suggestion- make a list of absolute "can't live withouts" and have them ready for use at any given moment.

Fantastic, thanks for sharing! I'd like the inside of my car to have similar items. I need to reprioritize my edc bag.
