Trying to research winches a bit. This is for my 1996 AM General Hummer. I have the stock, non-winch bumper and would like a solution that contains the winch entirely behind the front bumper and doesn't reduce my approach angle.
Any thoughts, feelings, or cautionary tales to share?
Thanks,
-Matt

Two things can happen here. The winch goes out or the core support, radiator goes back. These things are like 8" fat.
My story is there are not 13 winch factories in china. If you take the plastic off the badlands it's identical to my winch for $300 on amazon and works great.
Get one and put it in where it fits in. LOL
Whatever you do have fun doing it.

I heard of to many expensive brand winches failing, even saw it with my own eyes and saw to many cheap winches perform flawlessly to choose any of the big names.
I only would upgrade to a Yankum rope fairlead and I wouldn't trust Chinese rope.
