When the weather cools down a little I am going back to Sandy Sanders Wildlife Management Area south of Eric Ok. It's a really neat open area that is like going back in time. Very undeveloped and remote. I call it the Oklahoma out back. Great for exploring. You feel like you may run into a band of Indians or a wagon train anytime. Lots of one lane dirt roads that are not to technical. Lots of primitive camping. Not a good idea to go there in wet weather as the ground/mud there gets very sticky and slick. If you are to far into it and a storm comes up it best to get out while you can. We are going to camp near the east entry and ride our street legal dirt bikes most of the time.

So today I am out and about during my lunch to pick up some food and furniture for my new boom stick

I am leaving the parking lot of the only shop in Tulsa that had the forearm I wanted when I saw the shop truck.

Now granted its a awesome rig, just across the parking lot you have this Beauty that just made me drool. You cant see it, but yes even has a snorkel to help with our torrential downpours we are having this week.

What gets me though, is that the shop I went to is 2 doors down from SportsWorld (a staple in Tulsa for over 40 years). I could not contemplate competing with SportsWorld, but the other place is more for tactical timmies. The reason I bring up sports world is that they happen to own this beast that sits out front of their store everyday.

Apparently however it wont be there forever, as they are selling the shop H1 for a nominal $65,000 .

My mom called and asked if I could come give her a hand around the house. I said absolutly and took the kids with me to the lake (she lives on Eufaula). Well the kids and mom (who has R.A.) enjoyed the weekend on the lake while I did tasks around the house that are getting to be to much for her. Unloading 2 utility trailers at the dump, unloading a uhaul from an estate. Working on her camry (weird turning wrenches on a toyota). getting her old purple ram back up and running. And some other little honey dos around The house. The ram has been parked for nearly a year and she said it had a flat that she thinks needs to be replaced. I get there and these 2 are on her front, and the rear are not much better. So mom got 4 new tires taking them to the tire shop 2 at a time since the tags are 8 months out of date, and I was not driving 30 miles on these tires.

So I was sitting in traffic yesterday thinking how can I mod my DD to run a little cooler? Then it hits me create a forced induction system directly into my engine bay! But how? I'm broke as can be at the moment, but I really want to mod my car. Then it hits me (or I hit it rather) I will let my insurance company finance my mod to me for the next 3-5 years, and while im at it I will go ahead and buy that F-150 sitting in traffic with me a new rear bumper! Here is the end result, hope it pays off...

Guys, new member here. I'd like to get out asap if anyone has any trip ideas or plans, please let me know. Could anyone make any suggestions for a Weekend trip destination within reaching distance of OKC ? Thanks M
Welcome! Glad to see the central Oklahoma group continuing to grow. Cross Bar Ranch is a 6000 acre off road park in Davis that is worth checking out. I have been down there twice and only seen a fraction of what's there. Its a good day trip, but there's also some decent camp site on the south side of the park and you could make a weekend out of it. We had a good meet up/trailride there a few months ago, we need to do it again sometime.

Cool, thanks. I did Crossbar a few months ago and found it to too much rock crawling versus trails , but I could have only seen a small portion of it. Any idea where we can get trail maps or a list of trails with any descriptions for stuff here in Oklahoma? If not we should create one :)

Check out the Oklahoma Adventure Trail or the Oklahoma portion of the Trans-American Trail. I know the TAT has its own website where you can download the GPS tracks. OAT is also well documented, GPS tracks or maps shouldn't be hard to find. There's some threads in this forum about OAT as well. Another place I want to explore more is Winding Stair Nat'l Rec area near Zoe, Ok. Lots of Forest Service roads of varying difficulty and several cool campgrounds. USFS website has some motor vehicle use maps of the area, but they are kinda buried within the website. I agree that Oklahoma needs a more centralized guide for trail info....

Guys two things. !. Where is teh world is teh OAT well documented? i can't find anything on it.

2. There is a guy on one of the other forums doing the TAT from start to finish and will be hitting oklahoma around 29th or 30th. I offered up that some of us would come out and ride the trail with him along his journey while he's here. Anybody interested in going? Thx

OAT all started in the dual sport motorcycle community. Here's the link to the thread where you can download the GPS tracks. The thread is still pretty active with people running various portions of the trail. Maybe "well documented" is an overstatement. I would expect to have to make a few detours from the route. Its suposed to be an adventure after all.

Anyone want this? Front Runner Footwell Water Tank with valves and hoses. Holds 10.6 gallons. I used it in my JKU but it doesn't fit right in my JLU. The cutout in the middle isn't big enough for the new center console design so it doesn't start sit flat in the foot well. Drives my OCD nuts. Asking $100. I'm in Owasso, OK.
