Hi, I have been lurking on the board for a while and decided to join in and become a member. I have been hitting logging roads in Rangeley, ME for the past 7+ years during bird season in my friends trucks and like just driving. This year I got rid of my 2003 Toyota Corolla(had since 2003) and picked up a 2003 Lexus gx470. I had taken that Corolla through 2’ of water on logging roads, but as motivation for getting out more and a semi-midlife crisis vehicle, upgraded to the gx because it checked all the boxes. I have a couple young kids and am trying to motivate myself to get them out in nature more, the way I was raised as a kid.
Hoping to find some local people to absorb information from and share what information I have.

Hey Gabe -

I'm on the road 8-10 months a year, but when I'm in this part of the country I hang my hat in Portland over around Back Cove. I'm in town now through the holidays.

Can't say I have a ton to offer in the way of outfitting/upgrading your particular vehicle, but do have a ton of experience going back decades in long-distance travel, road life, and back country camping all over North America and Europe.

Welcome aboard. Fellow Mainer here. Western Maine Bethel area. Just getting starting myself. Have a 04 4runner and TJ Unlimited I am slowly starting to get going. Hope to make a run to the Trains this summer finally.

hey sorry for the late reply, been off in GXOR land. Once we have a better idea of how things are to panning out with opening the state up maybe we could do a run.
