Hey guys. New to the overlanding scene, but not new to the wheeling, outdoor or camping scene. Hoping to put it all together and dabble in overlanding. Not many options here in NY for true overlanding fun so seeking out ideas/ help.

My ride is a 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD. Still working out setting it up and getting it prepped for more overlanding adventures. But have played with it in the woods a little so far. Bought an old military M105 trailer a few years ago, to do yard work with, thinking about setting this up as a camper trailer. Not sure if I want to go the roof to tent option or more of a camper option.

I am planning to go on a DIY elk hunt in Idaho next fall (2023). Looking for ideas and suggestions on getting my set up in a good spot. Most likely won’t be backcountry camping, just camping out at trailheads and such.

Names Zach. Look forward to what this forum can offer!

Where abouts in Colorado? My uncle is in Aurora. Been out to visit quite a few times over the years. I love it out that way. My find myself making it out that way someday.

As I mentioned, taking a hunting trip to Idaho this fall. Plan on going through Colorado to visit.

I hear ya. There are some decent places to go in the Adirondacks. Check out Moose River Plains. The trails there start in Inlet and go through to Indian Lake. There are plenty of, first come, first serve camping areas. Most of the roads aren't very technical. Most are 20' wide and graded off. But its something.

I am also looking to go to PA sometime this coming spring/ summer. As well as a trip to Nashville and a trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Appreciate the praise on my truck. With little aftermarket support for the Libertys proves challenging. But I enjoy welding and fabricating so I am excited and anxious to dive into it. I may getting into a shop soon, so I will have more opportunities for projects.
