New from South Eastern Wisconsin

Just introing myself since I am new and new to overlanding itself.

Just looking to gain knowledge, talk to other like minded people and at some point hope to join a few meet-ups in the Wisconsin area.
44 years old, Army Infantry Vet.
2012 GMC Yukon SLT (Will get a pics up soon)
and 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. Have not decided which i will turn into an overlander vehicle. But leaning towards the Yukon.
So by all means any Wisconsin folks feel free to say hi

I don’t live in WI but I work in SE WI so I’m not that far. I’m just getting started but I’m purchasing a Frontier because I’ve read they’re pretty great for this stuff, and I’ve definitely got plans for it. I’m 35, also Army, and I’ve always had an interest in survivalist stuff, which led me to overlanding. I look forward to learning alongside ya and maybe even meeting one day!

So you drive across that border on a daily basis for work huh? No thank you,lol. Your a better man than I.
Ya frontiers are nice SUV'S. I myself will most likely choose my GMC Yukon SLT instead of my Silverado 2500HD. Easier to maneuver in and out of tight spaces, more agile and articulation on the trails. But definitely got some work to do before some serious overlanding. Updated front end parts and a progressive 4-5 inch lift with protection plates of course.

Ya I wouldn't mind meeting sometime and tackling some minor trails.

How far into southeastern wi do you go into?

Been on here for a couple weeks now. The Wisconsin state seems to be kinda dead for communication and such and learning bout the trails and what and whatnot my rig can handle.

So just means I will have to treat lightly when I decide to do some overlanding in Wisconsin by myself and be more cautious and learn along the way. A survival background i have, but not really overlanding.

Maybe as time goes on some Wisconsin members will want to get out and maybe let me tag along for some runs. I do hear that winter snow overlanding can be a great time, beautiful but also a great time to get out and learn.

And Meher ya we are neighbors. I was just up that way about a month ago making a drop off run. I was towing my buddies Silverado 2500HD inside a shipping container with my Silverado 2500HD for its last run,lol

Our campground is actually in Iowa but we live in Minnesota.
What does the truck inside of the container look like?

Yes I am retiring the truck and the container. Here ya go. Mine is the other white one next to it.

Iowa huh, never been there, always wanted to go tho. I've been as far as that metal bridge that separates Savana Illinois and Iowa.

I'm not retiring yet. I'm only 45,lol. I will wait till military retirement at 59 1/2,lol.
And hell i just started my own 1 man business on the side about a year ago and busy as heck. Thinking of quitting my day job and going full time at my side CNC business. I'm turning down potential accounts.

I've thot about either my own campsite or a cottage up North somewhere at some point
