Every year NEF hosts a toy drive in CT. This year we teamed up with Pete's Camp in Windham Vermont to get the off-road community together in the green mountains. Along with some great support from OEX, Ridgeback Guide Services, NE-OVEX, Wheelers LLC, Detours of Maine, the Mitsubishi community as well as some privateers who donated out of their own pockets, we have a great charity event for all participants.
October 27th kicks off the event with a Toy drive at Pete's Camp. This is a free event, but please read below.
9-10AM : We will be stuffing a cruiser or two from Vermont State Police. Donations will then make their way over to the USMC afterwards. We suggest toy donations in total value of $50 or more. Tickets will then be awarded via donation size, which can be used towards our raffle. I really want to make a statement with a massive pile of toys. Let's make it count!
10AM : Quick pep talk/thank you to all who attended, and then we kick off our raffle! This is one badass raffle to get in on folks! Everything from a two day OEX Training, to recovery gear, two different rear tire carriers, custom hand pinstriped art from our very own Sasquatch, to miscellaneous merchandise all provided by a host of sponsors within the off-road community.
11AM : Groups of 6 to 8 trucks begin to depart with their guides to designated loops. Each loop is designed around specific class 4 roads which have been singled out by Vermont Game Wardens, which we have been working with since this was all just an idea being kicked around the fire a few weeks ago. Each loop will be a combo of trails, dirt roads etc which hit one or two areas in need of a cleanup. Crews haul out as much as they can with their group, and work their way back to camp where we have arrangements made to haul the garbage away. To those that need to split, at this time you can start working your way home
Afterwards, your welcome to stay and camp overnight with us, before heading home on Sunday. Those of you camping, please provide a donation to Pete's Camp on your way out, to cover firewood etc.
I believe I speak for us all when I say Vermont has alot to offer, it's a resource which we need to respect so we can continue to enjoy it year after year. So come wheel with a cause, and join us for this year's event!
Looking forward to seeing those of you lucky enough to get a spot. Keep in mind space is limited. This will be a small tight group of approx 40-50 trucks max.
Vehicle requirements: True working 4 wheel drive with low range, tow points, and in safe operating condition. We don't want to be doing a trail cleanup while leaving an Exxon oil slick behind everywhere we stop.
Registrations will be swapable if you can't make it and have a spot, don't let it go to waste, be sure to post up a slot is available and it will fill fast.
